Bach’s “Fugue in G Minor,” commonly referred to as his “Little Fugue,” was written while he was a young and gaining in popularity at Arnstadt (1703-1707). The theme is well recognized and the piece is among his most well known works. Here is a challenging but playable setting for trumpet quartet. I want to give a special shoutout regarding the instrument I am playing in the video: the JP Smith-Watkins Bb Trumpet (Bb Trumpet: JP251SW). This is an “intermediate level” trumpet that plays as well as most professional line instruments, for a much nicer price.
