Just completed a roughly 8 mile hike stretched over a little more than 3hrs. Lots of elevation changes and cliffs to press the GPS. Had a Garmin Fenix 5S on other arm. Stats were nearly identical and still have 65% battery remaining. I personally think that is great for such a tiny watch. I hope it continues.

Did you find the heart rate to be accurate?

@@DennyAdiputra yes it has been nearly identical through a hike a 2 walks. It registered my Max HR as 5 beats higher than the Garmin on the hike, but avg was equal. It has registered 1 beat lower on avg on both walks.

Let me say this I bought this watch, fresh out the box I was disappointed because the screen wasn't as big as I thought but since I've been using it it's actually pretty amazing. Very beautiful screen and sleek design I'm happy with my purchase

How many inches in diameter is your wrist size? Supposedly 40mm case size is for wrists in the 6-7 inch range

Funny you mention that. I actually got mine today at $179. I'm not that concerned about lack of speaker, honestly. For one, a speaker loud enough to be heard would just drain the battery that much faster and also I use bluetooth headphones anyway.

I am super excited to get mine in a few days, it sounds perfect for what I need (fitness watch that isn't bulky) as I can charge my watch everyday whilst I shower and get ready it just seems perfect for my first fitness watch :D nice video!

I got mine and boy I love it!!!!!!!! Everyone talks about HR and GPS and they work great but no one mentions the sleep tracking! Sleep tracking is my favorite feature on the galaxy watch active and I have no idea how it knows exactly what time I sleep and wake up! Its absolutely SPOT ON PERFECT. If I wake up in the middle of the night and go back to sleep, it knows. Even if I never got out of bed! Every time I see my past sleep records and averages, I feel encouraged to raise my average for the next week. The first week I had it, I had gotten, on average, 5h 58m per night. This last week, its 7h 9m. Idk how accurate the REM and deep sleep tracking is, but whenever I workout, I notice a 20% increase in deep sleep. 10/10 for the sleep tracking. The watch has some issues with only a 36 hour battery life and Bixby ofc being useless but damn sleep tracking is literally helping me improve my life.

Yeah it's perfect for that. I just charge mine overnight because I don't do sleep tracking but that's me. Awesome product, awesome watch.

I got it on launch day (the silver one) and I absolutely love it. I have it on always on display mode and I still get about a day and a half - two days worth of battery life on a single charge, it's nice and light and I hardly even notice it's there, it's a bit more comfortable than the Apple watch, and I think the silver one in particular has a really high-quality look to it, it looks a little less like a fitness tracker and a little more like a watch. Awesome smartwatch.

The Galaxy Watch heart rate monitor problems have definitely NOT been fixed - at least not in my experience. In the past 60 days I have tried two different units, each for three weeks, and was able to show the Samsung store manager hours out of every day where there was simply no heart rate reading. They had no solution and gave me my money back. Just got the Galaxy Watch active today, and though it's only been four hours there hasn't been a drop in monitoring yet. I like the small form factor, and though I miss the rotating bezel of the bigger Galaxy Watch I put a much higher value on sensor functionality.

Maybe I lucked out. My HR sensor has never not given a reading.. It's always on. Maybe issue with manufacturer, luck of the draw?

In my opinion it would be a bit too clunky and I like it's small form factor. So that's a plus for me.

Really like your 179 price because I watched bust buy as soon as they were realeased and bought mine less than 8 hrs after for 179. The reason I didn't pre order was didnt think the were call capable but everey one said yes well with a LG android phone and wireless headphones they aren"t.But still really l;ike the watch

Yes. I do mostly casual walking and maybe a couple exercises with it but other than that I wear it like I would any other watch and it's perfect. Very comfortable and looks pretty good. I would say out of all of them the silver one probably looks the most like a "normal watch" but they're all equally great.

@@imjelp I don't like to constantly have to move that extra part around. Besides, I don't choose to like something because others like it. I have my own mind and taste. It isn't even attractive. That's just my opinion. Do what's right for you, but for me I don't like it and that's why I never purchased a Samsung watch before. The Samsung Active is just what I have been waiting for.

If you want guaranteed all-day heart rate sensor readings, I would not suggest the Galaxy Watch 42mm. There's a big problem with that sensor on many, many units which Samsung won't acknowledge.

Hello, thanks for the video. I can see you have different smartwatches. Im looking for something simple. 1) I like to listen to music while I shower so I want something to let me change the songs. 2) Definitely something to monitor my workout (I always go to the gym so I wont need GPS, just to monitr heart rate and other exercises like pushups, abdominals etc). 3) something to monitor my sleep 4) LAstly, a watch to monitor my daily activity (I think every watch does this) The Samsung Watch Active seems to be the correct one for me, but would like to know what do you think? tip in beginning wifi installing on the watch when asked, then update and when done pusch again update en continue till there are no updates anymore. Then close wifi and nfc off on the watch if you not use it! .Afther that your watch only use 3% every hour! goodluck

Simon Kerr so you can swipe along the black bezel and it works just as fine as the galaxy watch, right? Could you tell me more about your usage with the watch? Any information is fine. 😁 I'd like context from a non youtuber.

okay so lets say im about to buy a smart watch for a mild sport excercise not really anything hardcore...is it worth spending 70 euro more for these ones instead of gear sport??...i would like to go for samsung cos i have a samsung phone so the app compatibility wouldnt be a problem

@@kazooduck it gives a rough guess based on BMR, you stick your height and weight in the samsung health app and does it that way, also you can manually type in your consumed calories in the app as well which is fed to the watch as well.

i don't have a watch yet i was thinking of the 42mm till i seen the active. not into the fitness so much. i just want a good watch that has bluetooth on samsung pay and on board storage so i am guessing i should go the 42mm then, i looked at ticwatch but i would like something with the new wear 3100 any advice. i have the s10 plus

Spotify is a go and Bluetooth headphones can be paired..never tried airpods but if you can pair them with Android,you should be ok

That means standalone mode... Bluetooth connection was lost to your phone. Happens when you go out of range
