That was a good and honest comparison review 👍👍I own the original Galaxy Watch 46mm 4G and I'm still quite happy with it. However, I went to a retail store yesterday to take a look at the new Galaxy Watch 3 and I can't lie I was quite impressed especially with the design. Of course, it's down to your personal preference, but I found the new design much more elegant and classy, while the previous versions look more sporty. The new Galaxy Watch 3 has also a slightly bigger screen and the display is just stunning! It's brighter, crispier, and sharper than the Galaxy Watch 46mm, and I found the colors more vibrant. My first thought was like I wanted to upgrade just for this display lol. I looked at the version with silver body and it was shiny and polished as opposed to the brushed finish on the old Galaxy Watch. I actually liked the rounded buttons more as they make the watch look more classy. But if you prefer a sportier look then it may not be your choice. The bump between the buttons is to prevent accidental presses by the back of your hand, so it's there for a reason and it doesn't look that bad either in my opinion. The bezel is also somewhat more narrow than the one on the original watch which brings the gorgeous display to the first plan in my opinion. The only downside of the new Galaxy Watch 3 is for me the battery really which is a downgrade from the original Galaxy Watch 46mm. That's a shame because I get up to 4 days with moderate usage and I don't need to worry about charging it every day. I guess the reason for Samsung to put a smaller battery was to reduce the bulkiness of the new watch and to make room for the sensors and bigger memory. There's always a trade off. Speaking of the memory I'd be much happier to make an upgrade for this too as I'm running out of memory on my Galaxy Watch 46mm and it's frustrating you're unable to install any more apps, new watch faces, music, etc. So increasing internal memory was definitely a move into the right direction. I think the new Galaxy Watch 3 is definitely worth the money but maybe it's also worth waiting for the price to go down a bit or get a good deal. The ECG sensor is also a good addition, of course, as long as you need it and it's enabled in your region.

Wish the Galaxy Watch has 8 GB Storage and it would be my perfect watch.

I just bought the used (Like new) Samsung Galaxy watch for $ 143.00 and the truth is that I totally agree it is a very complete Smart watch and did not change it for any other.

Smaller screen is better since both are 360x360. That means you have sharper image on the original Galaxy Watch.

I use Bixby for setting timers, getting the weather, doing math, setting reminders, starting a recorder app and turning on the flashlight. Idk why people hate on Bixby, it's just a more basic voice control. I only charge my galaxy watch twice a week. I don't really use many apps tho. I can't believe the galaxy watch 3 doesn't have the beefy battery :(. With a silver bezel plate and stainless steel brand my galaxy watch looks better than most smart watches I see on people

The fact that the battery life on our older Galaxy watch( gen 1) still beats the Galaxy Watch 3, is one main key reason why I won't upgrade right now. Why didn't Samsung seek to increase/improve battery life on this latest model? Then I would be sold on it.

I have a flawless black Gear S3 Frontier with a black stainless steel mesh band and black diamond cut bezel ring, totally unique. Samsung offered me $200.00 trade in for it plus a cyber Monday discount bringing the Watch 3 LTE down to just $219.00 plus tax. I decided to give it a try... After setting it all up (keep in mind that I don't use any of the fitness functions, I use my watch for phone calls, text messages, checking emails, getting weather and package alerts and Samsung Pay for super fast checkout) their was absolutely no different in the user interface. All the apps I use daily were the same and looked exactly the same. The Watch 3 felt lighter and cheaper (despite being nearly $500.00 retail). Even though the Watch 3 was brand new my Gear has longer battery life. But the last straw for me was when I stopped into the convenience store that I use daily on the way to work and Samsung Pay would not work. Turns out the stores card readers are old school and don't support NFC payments and the Watch 3 DOES NOT support MST payments. So, on day 2... The Watch 3... went back to Samsung and the Gear S3 Frontier went BACK ON MY WRIST.

Ya, I don't plan on getting the GW3. Still happy rotating between my GW 46mm and GWA2 44mm.

Everyone seems to have missed this point - if you care about your steps and floors climbed, there is NO widget for tracking floors as of 9/7/20 on the GW3

My gear s3 stopped working a couple weeks ago.. I just got a galaxy watch 46mm lte like new for 150. Maybe will trade in my gw and get the gw3 in Dec or Jan. Just didn't want to pay all that for a smart watch right now.

I don't have either but did get the Active Watch 2. I was debating between the active watch 2 and Garmin venue. My biggest concern with Samsung watches were the fitness features of the phone and it's accuracy. Up until now I am extremely happy and love the watch. I do use Strava and so the fact that it streams seamlessly is awesome. I came from an Apple watch and the Samsung active two has many of the same smartwatch features features if not better. Pretty happy so far

flush buttons are what all the top Omega and Tag have. Not sure why they went with those old school buttons. Both designs have issues. I wish I could fuse the two. I like the chunker strap points on the original.

Bixby is really slow and bad when compared to Google but its useful when setting reminders, texting, starting timers, quick calculations...etc . from your watch. Its limited to these types of functionalities.

The battery life is the reason why I got the Galaxy watch 46mm over the galaxy watch 3. Also got it on Amazon for $118 bucks so couldn't pass that up.

I had the GW 46mm and it will get slow as it gets old and also the health registration isn't the best that's very sad, but the new GW 3 hopefully doesn't do those things.. so I'm still waiting to see if it has improved because the new one it's expensive

Wish samsung made huge improvement with the speaker because it just sounded crappy and not loud enough without sounding crackle when turning volume high up for the 46 mm I work in outside super loud environment and I can barely hear from the speaker. And make it waterproof seal against dust and water damage.

The massive issue with the 46mm is that the heart rate cover on the back notoriously falls off even after official repair from a samsung store

I got the Galaxy Watch 3 on Amazon Renewed for 100 bucks and it was great' lasted more than a day if I did not use the always on display and when I did use that it still made it till evening before the battery died. The 3 has more system memory and storage memory. I returned it for a refund to get the 4 classic 42 mm and and then returned that one for the 46 mm because the 46mm the same size screen as the 3 and a slightly larger and longer lasting battery.

To not waste 16 mins here is a summation. Watch 3- 1GB ram, 8GB Storage, smaller battery. 46mm: 760GB ram 4GB storage bigger battery (hence the reason for the hump on the back.) Other than those 3 key things they are identical.

Biggest issue I Have with your comparison is the degradation of battery life. You really should factor that in m8. Its 2 years old and battery degradation would have a bigger impact on smaller mAH sizes. ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️☢️

I just upgraded from the Galaxy Watch to the Galaxy Watch 3 and I'm disappointed it has the same processor. I also always get the LTE versions and one thing I noticed is my Galaxy Watch has 1.5GB ram and the Galaxy Watch 3 was stepped down to 1GB. Makes no sense why the drop in ram in a newer model..
