Listening to Jack Benny programs from the thirties, forties, and fifties, I'm struck by how consistent it was. One would think that after twenty plus years, the humor would have gotten stale, but nope! The fifties shows were just as funny as the thirties. Amazing.

@@eileenheath1968 I'm not disparaging his choices. I am very grateful that he's chosen to share his collection with us. It is difficult at times, however, to watch these in order. I am very happy to hear the early war shows together.

There were certainly a number of "firsts" in this episode! And who was that playing the Tout? It sure wasn't Sheldon Leonard!

You got a good ear, Doc. The tout was Benny Rubin; Mr. Leonard would take over that assignment later.

@@shenysys Of course he would. Jack was known for his generosity.

In 2023 dollars $140 is $2393. I don’t think Jack was THAT generous!
