Fresh Cream was one of their best albums for that crisp , tight blues ! I saw the original around 1968 . Eric's playing has evolved . However , Gary nailed the riffs , TONE and feel of the original like NO OTHER !!! I really enjoy this visit of a classic ! RIP Gary and Jack 😢 .

@MrCherryJuice
@MrCherryJuice 7 ай бұрын
Eric didn't introduce Jack to the blues. A few years prior to Cream, Jack was the bassist in Blues Incorporated (Charlie Watts drumming), the archetype British blues band that inspired the formation of the Rolling Stones. Then he, along with Ginger Baker, was in the Graham Bond Organisation, one of the UK's first r 'n' b combos, and a band Clapton saw often. Also worth noting that when Clapton returned to John Mayall's Bluesbreakers in late '65 after a sojourn to Greece, Jack Bruce had taken over the bass spot from John McVie (McVie was reinstated after Bruce left to join Manfred Mann). Bruce and Clapton, along with Stevie Winwood and Pete York of the Spencer Davis Group plus Paul Jones of Manfred Man also did several tunes for the album 'What's Shakin'', including 'Spoonful', which Bruce and Clapton would also record months later on 'Fresh Cream'. Indeed, if anyone got schooled in Cream, it was, by his own admission, Clapton.
