For much too long I didn't have Gary on my radar, I pity this absolutely! In this session he shines, that's right, he reflects Eric's style but pushes it to new heights! And the video doesn't respect him enough. I love Bruce, and the drummer is also excellent, but Gary is shown more like a side-figure. Although his playing is superb!

This is KILLER. Thanks for whoever posted this, so good to see Gary playing a Gibson SG, have to wonder WHY he didn't do it more often as it just delivers THAT sound for this type of music just about BETTER than any other axe. Very FEW product pitch lines ring true, one that DOES is certainly "ONLY A GIBSON IS GOOD ENOUGH". Clapton should NEVER have stopped using Gibsons! I saw him in Cream TWICE, he NEVER sounded THAT good again, nothing beats a Gibson back through a tube amp, and I DO mean nothing!!

Quick story, on Oct 17, 2018 I attended a Soft Machine performance at the Garrison in Toronto. Standing room only, and the lad next to me before the show seemed amicable. I noticed he was wearing a Pearl drums T shirt. Then the show started and he stepped on stage. It was Gary Husband standing in for the evening! I am blown away, wow!

@@davidcaldwell3681 Certainly not. He was in this respect though, sticking very close to the Eric 'Cream' style. I think you missed my point. He couldn't play this dedication to Cream by playing in his 'Greeny' style or his SRV or BB King style. Gary could play anything. Have a listen to him in his Colosseum days ..amazing!! As a musician in the 60s and 70s, those live Cream jams were the hippest thing, especially for drummers and bass players. The liberation and experimentation were akin to jazz. After the Cream phenomenon faded away, it was back in the box for quite awhile. Just listen to Jack here. His lines are aggressive. What a joy to hear music like this again. In many ways, Clapton was the glue that kept it together because Jack and Ginger would venture off into uncharted waters. But Clapton's blues-based style kept the audience from getting lost.
