As one of the first 24 hr. Jacks in Carson, Calif. working in the wee hours of the morning a drunk patron kept jumping up and down on the bell cord. I looked in the mirror, turned on the intercom and yelled “ GET OFF OF MY FEET”. He looked up at the Jack head and took off running. Great memories of working there.

I was just telling my daughter about when I was a little girl around 4yrs old, in Indiana during the mid 70's, EVERY Friday before going to the drive-in, we would go to Jack-n-The Box and I would get tacos 😋. I don't remember any movie we ever went to go see, but I remember the tacos 😁 🤭

My first fast food meal when I moved to San Diego in 1963 was at Jack-In-The-Box. At the age of four, I was fascinated by the talking clown. In those days, they'd put a handful of balloons in the bag if they saw you had kids with you. My favorite menu item was the hot apple turnover. It had a nice flaky crust, with just a hint of cinnamon. And of course I loved the tacos, which were the first tacos I had ever tasted. At one point I lived in walking distance from a Jack-In-The-Box located right next to the apartments I grew up in. After the Blow Up The Clown commercial aired, a group of professional clowns got together and publicly protested that ad campaign. Jack-In-The-Box was a huge part of my childhood.

I’ve worked there the past couple of years, and I’m sad to say the company is way too tight on their money to improve the food :/ There are too many stores for them to actually care what the franchises do, and it leads to everyone being money-hungry and letting the store suffer for it. Tacos are still pretty good for $1 though

In 1998 when I first discovered smoking weed my best friend and I decided to go to Jack In The Box. Had been countless times over the years but this was my first time going stoned. We were in the drive thru. I rolled up to the Menu Board completely petrified to talk and place our order. We sat there for a long time wondering why no one was answering us and taking our order. Pretty soon a huge line of cars piled up behind us and started honking. We realized we weren't at the order board. Couldn't stop laughing and was next to impossible to talk to the poor person working there to give our order. We finally got the pick up window and they asked us "Should you even be driving?". The whole way home cracking up. We're still friends to this day and always talk about that when we hang out.

For me i was at a jack in the box that was next to a McDonald's and when I heard them say hi can i take your order I ordered a jack in the box combo with vanilla shake. And I kept hearing hi can I take your order over and over. I roll further through the drive thru till I get to the window and was about to tell the person at the window... it must be your last day of work and you thought it would be fun to mess with customers but you messed with the wrong one. I was waiting for someone to open the drive thru window for jack in the box. Then I hear.. hi can I take your order from the McDonald's side... I felt stupid 🤦🏻‍♂️followed by the feeling of laughing at myself for being so dumb at the moment. I left and went to another jack in the box and made sure not to order at McDonald's through the jack in the box drive thru again. Yeah I wrote a novel so what

OMFG the Jack in the Box we used to go to was on Security Blvd in Baltimore County. They had like one person working in there during the late night hours. We gave that guy a workout! We all went in there to use the bathroom (drunk as hell of course) and I pissed in a trash can and kicked it over!! They fkd up my brother's order one time and he put a beer bottle through the drive-up menu! They left shortly after, 1978-79 IIRC. The site of that sorry-ass JITB is now an office building converted to a church/daycare center. BTW the guy who used to be there looked a lot like "Rerun"of the TV show "What's Happening".

After a morning of surfing with my friend Paul Fishbein and his brothers David and Joel, under the watchful eye of their mother Joan, we drove in her white Rambler Ambassador station wagon straight to Jack in the The Box for hamburgers, fries, onion rings, and milk shakes. The location? Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach, California, also known as Surf City USA. It was the summer of 1963 and we listened to Jan and Dean on The Big 11-10, KRLA Pasadena, singing “Two girls for every boy.” I was 12. Life was good. I was stoked! Many years later I moonlighted as a mobile DJ and played in a couple of garage bands in the Sacramento area in the 1990s. After the gigs I stopped on the way home at Jack in the Box in Fair Oaks next to Citrus Heights and ordered two tacos. I thought they were delicious. The location is still open until 2 a.m.

I did have tennis lessons for a brief period, and the instructor would take me home afterwards, along with a couple other students. One day he said he was going to stop at Jack in the Box and buy us lunch, and I thought he was joking because my dad would often joke about it. He wasn’t. There are numerous Jacks still going in Texas. My mom would drive our station wagon back in the 60s to the Jack's on Long Point Rd. in Houston. There was a large revolving clown head on the sign and we kids pretended we would die if the clown head looked at us so we would duck whenever the head spun in our direction. My sister would scream. My mom must have thought we were nuts. The Breakfast Jack is the best thing to eat while on the road. It is a slice of ham and a fried egg with cheddar cheese in between two buns. The cheese made for the perfect adhesive so the rest never slipped through the back of the sandwich while driving. I could enjoy the Breakfast Jack and a drink while keeping my eyes on the road and one hand on the steering wheel to the amazement of any passengers. I personally believe the Jack CEO ads are the best running ad campaign ever devised. It's brand specific (you could never mistake them for another brand), humorous and product-focused (they always pitched the food rather than belaboring the joke). The Jack CEO also seems like a cool guy to work for. Never was a fan of the tacos, though.
