So as it turns out you need to pay to hunt the other animals, which is total bullshit. I didn't know that at the time of recording so that's why I sounded so enthusiastic about how the game is free. Regardless the stuff you saw me do in this video was free so you can at least have SOME fun with it :)

This is the most nostalgic series on youtube for me. I remember being like 10-11 watching this for the first time and following this whole series; I'm almost an adult now and man...this series has helped me through some heavy mental struggles. Thank you Sean.

What I really hate about this game is that it's advertised as free to play, but once you download it you find out you have to pay to do anything worth a shit in it.

I dont get why everyone is so offended by this saying how bad jack is for playing this game and how against everyone is! How many videos have you watched of gta 5 or cod where people get shot every few seconds yet the second one animal gets shot the world exp loads. Millions of animals get killed every day like chickens for supermarkets and well everything! Its life, before we had Tesco's we had to go out in the wild and hunt for the animals to kill and eat for survival. Not sit on our computer desks righting about how Jack is nasty for playing this. I loved the video Jack was a nice change as the game was so different and thanks for play it! :) I dont want to start a argument I just thought it all seemed a bit silly on poor Jack :)

If you want to play this game, please buy a membership. If you buy a membership bundle, you will get TONS of weapons. They are way better than the .243 rifle. If you want to kill a moose with your .243, you will get no score because the caliber is too small and it will take hours till it's dead.

To the people who replied with comments like that's cruel and I hate hunting, at least the wild animals get to live a free life, unlike the cows crammed into pens with 1,000s of other cows that are force fed, sleep where they shit, and are artificially inseminated because it's quicker until they are lined up to be butchered once they are the correct weight to make our hamburgers and steak, I for one would choose the deer that has lived a relatively full and free life; for the record I eat meat, McDonald's even, I'm not some tree hugging hippie vegan who shouts save the whales when I get the chance, I just think some of you need a lesson in reality and a swift kick in the ass.

hello jack, as it may be you said you like the rpg,survival type games and snowy forests where you must monitor your temp,food,hunger,dehydration and fatigue by finding different clothes, hunting and looting abandoned buildings and cabins its hard to describe this game in full but. consider trying the long dark which is a serious survival game. no zombies or other whimsical creatures just straight up survival

That pheasant call sounds like this noise making dino toy I played with as a kid. The harder and longer you squeezed it the more crazy the noise it made. The noise is almost identical to that one.

Hi jack and bosses, I just wanted to tell you guys that hunting is a good thing. Now yes it's killing animals and no I am not cold hearted. I honestly hate when animals suffer a slow death. But I would like to give you some understanding. Now, hunting is good for three reasons. 1. When animals our over populated it is good to cut the population down because if there is so many of an animal and little food, they will suffer a slow death (make sure to hit vitals or finish it off so it can't suffer more. 2 it's fun. 3 meat is awesome. Now Gta and cod ring a bell, you kill humans. I play some of these games (I hate Gta) but when I know I am the good guy. But anyway I will do whatever it takes to protect the second amendment and those who disagree, that's your opinion. There you have it. Hey jack, funny thing about this...I watched this YEARS ago when it came out, loved it, wanted the game, never got it. And a few weeks ago i was on steam, looking for hunting games and found it. I COMPLETELY forgot you played it, until i saw The Hunter -PRIMAL" On steam and said; "wait....didnt i watch jack play this years ago?". My thoughts on hunting: it depends on the animal. I live in Michigan and I visit my grandparents sometimes and they live almost smack down the middle of the state and they live in the middle of the woods filled with wild turkey (its really cool in the fall because the males fluff up and spread their tail feathers for the girls) white tail deer (which are just majestic when they jump). My grandpa hunts deer mostly because of population control but he'll mount the antlers and use the venison to mix with beef and make burgers out of it. Point is he doesn't just waste the animal for just the pelt or the antlers. I don't like trophy hunting because it feels like wasting the animals life. If your gonna hunt pheasant, deer, or duck you might as well eat the meat. I saw a documentary about mountain lions where it was about two hunters and their dogs hunting a mountain lion just for its pelt, keep in mind the mountain lion wasn't attacking them. That is the hunting I'm against. I don't condone hunting where the animal is uncommon in the area and the rest of it is wasted.

To be honest, I completely disagree with hunting "for fun"... If you're just killing innocent animals for fun and your own self pride, then thats pretty damn cruel. But for people in Africa starving, thats an acceptation. THEY need to hunt to survive, not us. Killing in a game is completely fine for me. :)

As a Vegan I will admit, I'd sooner eat a professionally hunted animal that's enjoyed it's life than a farmed animal who might have spent their life cooped up in cages that are sometimes to small for them to even turn around. At the very least please try to buy from independent farmers they care for the animals, I take part in a farmers market where others sell free range meat (We sell Vegan and gluten free food), big super stores often buy from factory farms and that's a sad life for anything. I am not an advocate of hunting, I take part in hunt sabs in my area (Where you scare off animals etc) but that's the hunting with hounds. Chasing something until it cannot run anymore is not 'big' or 'cool' but it is totally cruel. The type of hunting Jack talks about and is in this game is frankly the only type of hunting that is acceptable if you ask me. But as I said before, I'm a Vegan, I don't agree with the harm of any animal. I know people will say "If you're really a Vegan you wouldn't agree with any of it." But I'm just trying to point out that this kind of hunting ... Where it's professional and they get an instant death... (Jack apparently isn't a professional ;) ) is far less cruel than factory farming or torturing something and then letting it be torn apart by hounds.

If you hunt for food(like I do) it isn't cruel, but if you hunt for the fun and just leave the meat, you're a shit person.

Ah, to be in the wilderness. I love woods and forests where you can just walk/wander for miles.

Aww... I instinctively felt sorry for the deer at the end where he'd laid down to die. Poor guy was minding his own business and enjoying the sun on a beautiful spring day until "Long-rifle" Jack decided that he wanted to kill some more poor creatures. The deer is quietly nibbling on some delicious dandelion shoots when he feels a sharp pain in his right-front leg followed by a loud boom. He had heard this sound often and knew that these sounds often heralded the deaths of other deer, including his own mother when he was but a young buck. He begins to panic, but the thought of his mother creates a steely resolve in him. "Not today," he thinks, "I will survive to see the sun rise again tomorrow". This leads the deer to begin quickly, but carefully, moving directly away from the danger until he feels the danger has passed after travelling for nearly half-an-hour. As he pulls alongside the lake that he spent so many careless summer days frolicking in with his siblings, the deer takes a long look at the wound which seems to have stopped bleeding. So, as he has been quite exhausted by today's excitement, a nice thicket is found where he can lie down and spend some time quietly contemplating life while regaining his strength in order to begin all of this again the next morning. As his eyes finally begin to droop closed the young buck hears a quiet rustling sound coming from the nearby lakeside, so he raises his head to see what is making such unexpected noises. His gaze is returned by that of one of the 2-legged creatures, and in that second an eternity seems to pass as the silent partners exchange information with flared nostrils and raised eyebrows just as surely as any young couple has during their first talk that goes on into the morning. The 2-legged creature slowly raises an arm to point at the deer... then darkness. There is nothing. There will never be anything again.
