To me it seems like at the time Duval was the one afraid not to leave comfortable surroundings, and play it safe, and wanted to have him there to buffer his platform while not properly providing the opportunity for his brother to get on. Jack has all the right to feel the way he does because he came to the concrete jungle and made something of himself outside of comfortable surroundings despite his brother not having faith in him

Jack is his own man, and he has to make decisions accordingly to his life and not accordingly to Lil Duval.
