If the police officer had done his job correctly and not killed him, Floyd would be in jail and not idolized. But cops always want to abuse their power and then they wonder why the majority of the public has lost respect for them. I don't hate cops but I have lost trust in them in recent years.

I looked up George Floyd I guess he had a bunch of felony gun charges in Texas or something in Texas decided to drop the charges because he’s dead? He’s lucky he didn’t come back to Texas I guess he’s not so lucky regardless. It’s a good moral story to tell the children that having a felony charge in Texas is a not a big deal. Of course the Texas Rangers are usually wrong about everything and mistakenly had a warrant out for him.

I’m a black man and for me I don’t think this is right. Yeah he died and it was wrong but he committed a crime and was high on something. I just don’t understand America with celebrating people that had committed a crime and think they deserve an award. George Floyd moved to Minneapolis in 2014 after being released from prison in Houston, Texas following an arrest for aggravated robbery. He was under the influence of fentanyl and methamphetamine at the time of arrest. Floyd has gone to jail at least 5 times. George Floyd was the ringleader of a violent home invasion. He plead guilty to entering a woman’s home, pointing a gun at her stomach and searching the home for drugs and money, according to court records. Floyd was sentenced to 10 months in state jail for possession of cocaine in a December 2005 arrest. He had previously been sentenced to eight months for the same offense, stemming from an October 2002 arrest. Floyd was arrested in 2002 for criminal trespassing and served 30 days in jail. He had another stint for a theft in August 1998.
