When It comes to products like this, you will often times find videos on KZfaq which amount to nothing more than unboxings but with TOGR we do things differently;
I've been testing this product for over 6 months, I've taken it across the country to Colorado and have relied on it for countless adventures into the middle of nowhere and I have a lot to share.
This is a real overland review of the Jackery Explorer 1000 Power Station.
Also, I review the Jackery 100w Solar Panels.

Jackery Explorer 1000 Review
Agenda Free Link Explorer 1000: www.jackery.com/products/expl...
Agenda Free Link Solar Panels : www.jackery.com/products/sola...
Price : $1000
Weight : 22lbs
Dimensions : 13.1 x 9.17 x 11.1”
Capacity : 1002Wh (21.6V, 46.4Ah)
Output Max : 1000W Continuous, 2000W Max
Battery Type : Li-ion NMC
Protection Systems : Over Voltage Protection, Short Circuit Protection and so on.
Ports :
USB A : Two USB-A ports (5V 2.4A,Quick Charge 3.0)
USB C : Two USB-C ports PD18W (5V 3A / 9V 2A / 12V 1.5A)
AC : 3*110VAC, 60Hz, 1000W Continuous, 2000W Max
DC : DC 12V, up to 10A
Operating Temp Range : 14-104F - I’ve had this running in temps around 102F with no issues.
Included : 1* Jackery Explorer 1000 Portable Power Station, 1*AC Adapter, 1* Car Charger Cable, 1*SolarSaga Parallel Adapter Cable, 1* User Guide
Review Pros :
Excellent quality - I’ve had no issues with this device; it has always worked flawlessly with no errors nor problems
3 standard PURE SINE WAVE AC outlets
Multiple ways to charge - Wall, DC, Solar
Power Levels is in percentages and not bars; bars are absolutely pointless and will get you into trouble as you will never be able to know exactly how much power you have left. Also, you won’t be able to determine how much power something that you plug in is being used.
1000w limit is great for running multiple items and appliances all at once and for running appliances that are under 1000w range.
Excellent Warranty - easy to contact the company via their web site and also via phone. Not all companies who make and sell power stations provide a phone number to call.
Dual Solar panel adapter cable included
Quick Charging via all methods;
8 hours by connecting two SolarSaga 100W solar panels together with an adapter cable
16 hours to charge via a single panel -
Solar Charge times are very much subjective and will be based on solar intensity, direction and so on.
Time for full recharging is approximately 7 hours from an AC outlet
11 hours from 12v car ports but your mileage will vary as there are differences in vehicles.
Features an Anderson Power port so you can use solar panels with this system
Good weight : I have larger power stations but they are a chore to move as they are very heavy. 22Lbs, isn’t bad
If charging via your start battery when the vehicle isn’t running, it does have built in protection so that you have enough juice to start. I don’t recommend doing this as you should drain your start battery.
Silent operation
Simple power solution for those who don’t want to mess with a dual battery system.
Review Cons :
Wattage usage can be slow to present on the lcd screen.
Flashlight isn’t super reliable.
Review Summary :
Without a doubt, the Jackery brand is the one Power Station Brand that I can easily recommend as it checks off all of the boxes for what I feel makes an excellent power station.
Lots of power, excellent peak wattage range, reliable, lots of ways to charge, quick to charge, power levels are in percentages, and can be charged via dc 12v.
1000wh is an excellent capacity for overlanding and also for emergency use; speaking of which, I’ve ran this station for months now and not once have I had any issues. I use it mainly to power my DC fridge/freezer and it has been excellent.

I have been waiting for an honest review on the Jackery. It seems everyone is trying to sell you on them on youtube. But.... sponsored videos can take the honesty out of it. So glad I heard it from Luke. When you are on the fence about something, Luke is the tipper that can push you, and you can trust.

I bought a 240 from Jackery. Months later they held a promotion where they were giving away a small power bank for the purchase of the 240. I emailed them, told them I bought mine months earlier and can I have one please. 2 weeks later, I got my power bank. Not only were they quick to respond, you have to respect that level of customer service and support

Good input sir. Been able to run my J1000 at around 1200w continuous without issues (electric burner), so it's definitely quite capable. Very handy, depending on your setup. I think the best part about lithium stations like this is portability outdoors. Lead is a bit cheaper to make power, but you aren't going to be taking those batteries around with you.

Ordered mine today, but without solar panels, got even a $150 coupon through Amazon! I came here to see what charging cables/options come in the box, glad everything is inclusive, for this price I expected it. My SUV camping is going to be so much more easy with this power station, even without solar panels, I don't stay away from home for weeks, so charging of the Jackery can be done in the car while driving. Now I can use my Mini-Bullet, I can't function without a fruit smoothie in the morning, lol. And since I don't have a garage, no mile long extension cables needed anymore for the power tools during the process of converting my Nissan X-Trail into a mini-camper. Wonderful review!

I have family members who require the occasional use of powered medical equipment and the 500 was extremely useful during a power outage. Plus it provides peace of mind. Its not a replacement for a home generator but the portability and ability to charge from solar are huge benefits even in the at-home role.

Researched portable power stations. Jackery by far is proven the best. Your review was extremely helpful and professionally presented. I will be purchasing the 1000w this year. Jackery does need to improve the solar panel to withstand moisture and rain to provide a perfect survival kit. Until such improvements are conducted, I will not purchase the panels. With the economy being unstable and the government being as nuts as it has been, my husband and I figured we better get serious about planning for emergencies in case the power goes out. After hearing what you had to say, I think it will be a wise purchase. I love how portable it is and quiet. If I get a infrared heater for the winter, and the power goes out, it will be perfect to keep our appliances going and our place warm!

Just picked up one of those along with a pair of 100W panels. Couldn't be happier. If you purchase the panels as a pair, you get a bit of a discount. As for the 'four ways to charge', maybe that refers to the four types of output (AC, DC 12v, USB-A and USB-C)? Keep up the good work, Luke!

Is it recommended to purchase two solar panels or will one be sufficient?
@harborprepper635
@harborprepper635 3 жыл бұрын
@@pault7280 It all boils down to time and time of year. With a pair, you can recharge fully in about 7-8 hours on a bright, sunny day. Obviously, that time will double with only one. Shorter winter days will compromise the recharging as well.

I went with AllPowers (280wh) for mine and love it. It’s for emergencies mainly, I can run the fridge freezer on it with solar, but it does get the occasional use at the end of the garden.

Just got my setup going and am so impressed. I'm not sure I chose "perfectly" since in 2024 there are some new options, and I find the fixed plastic handle a bothersome element in my already-crowded rear compartment, but I got a huge deal on both the battery and the solar panel. It really is as "plug and play" as you describe, so I was able to put it into my rig immediately. If it were a perfect rectangle with a foldable handle I'd have a bit less regret, but the idiot-proof power for days is simply astonishing Can't wait to make some outdoor off-grid solar-powered synth videos :)

You have confirmed my opinion on the Jackery system. I bought an Explorer 500 a few months ago, and like it so much that I recently ordered an Explorer 1500. While I researched many competitors, the Jackery came out on top, IMHO, and I am pleased with the product. Their product support is of ultimate importance. Thank you for the review!

@@sweetbeep They are both Jackery Explorers. LOL Didn't mean to confuse the issue. Unless you were wondering if the Explorer model came with solar panels - they don't. The identical models called "Solar Generators" do come with panels, as a kit. Best wishes, and Happy New Year!

Awesome review! I'm really excited about getting my Explorer 1000 with the 2 100W solar panels. I debated putting a 2nd battery in my 4Runner but cost for a good system is just as much as the solar setup and the Jackery has the added benefit of portability. With this solar plant, I can remove the weight from my truck when I don't need it. Can't do that with a secondary battery. Makes me feel good too knowing that I am harvesting solar energy rather than relying on fossil fuels. Sub'd.

We live off grid and have a small solar system, we also have a generator for the big stuff like power tools. We are considering the Jackery 1000 for an additional power source. We like back ups for our back ups. You gave a good review, hitting the buy button ASAP. Thank you

I purchased a Jackery 1000 AFTER I purchased a Jupiter 1500 watt inverter. When I saw all the wiring needed for the inverter, I changed my mind and got the Jack 1000. My thought was you’re still running off your truck battery. No worries now with the 1000. I went camping and it was cold at night, I had brought an electric blanket and used it 3 nights on 4 setting! The next mornings I plugged in my 6 cup coffee maker no problem. Numerous charges on iPhones & iPad. Over the 3 days I never got below 50% power So now that I’ve watched your video..... I’m gonna purchase a 12v fridge .... this is all your fault LoL You’re right about this Jack 1000 best purchase I’ve made! This makes short camping trips VERY comfortable and you confirmed long overland trips as well.

So this open and honest review, led me to purchase the Jackery 1000, yes there were cheaper, but i want reliability ( isnt that why we buy these in the first - to give you power when we have no other options). I did not purchase the solar panels from Jackery, as i found a better WATERPROOF version from Rockpals, for 2 x 100 panels (their new version) with kick-stands, so they can be angled towards the sun, for around $340 for 2 panels - they have an offer as of now ($40 off) through Amazon - i simply ordered 1 panel twice - so in effect got $80 off the 2 panels. This is an incredible saving over the Jackery Panels and they are waterproof too ! Thanks Luke.

Hey man! This was the first film of yours that I have seen (so still more to see), but I just wanted to give you some gratitude here in the comments: As someone with ESP and a decade worth of consulting experience, I can tell you’re a great and honest person. After dozens of other review videos, this was the most clear+honest+understandable. Just.. thank you, thank you, thank you. Ordered mine last week and got here last night, setting her up today! Recently was forced to move into my 07 Highlander, and although it is a dream of mine to overland/SUV-Life it up.. and Blog/Broadcast/Film/Photo the experience (Website+Channel hopefully coming soon) also a little scary when you’re relying on a loan (coming-off of disability) to get up and running (and survive). So honest reviews like this- legitimately life saving. Excited to learn more, and hope we can chat/meet at some point (good dudes united 😅). Hope you have a healthy day (or evening) ahead- filled with great spirits and lots of cheer, Spunky.

3 yrs later and I'm still considering buying that same unit. I don't have a ton of needs to justify anything bigger. I love that the company is USA based for support help. I love that it is controlled by me instead of a phone application. I like the ruggedness of it. And the sturdy handle for lugging it. All in all it simply and functionally meets my needs ♥. MY CAMPING STYLES ARE: 1. Chevy Classic 1500 Conversion Van with the EXPLORER package upgrades. 2. Moto Tent Camping with 2 Vespa Scooters. 3. 19ft Airstream Bumper Pull Camper 4. Our Full-size Motorcoach for stays of 3 months or longer and Van goes with us too so even more camping options during longer stays. IN CLOSING: Well then, that's why I like that Power Station unit. 😊

@@ragdollpreppers2648 Yes, I really haven't needed much. The Van has an built-in Inverter and that has worked well since I don't spend much time in it, mainly used for my fishing trips. The Airstream Bumper Pull is fully self contained, etc. The Newmar Motorcoach isn't an issue... built-in generator that's over kill even with 2 roof unit air conditioners. I'm mainly thinking about the Jackery for the Van... for Rain Days when the weekend weather doesn't cooperate for fishing. I know, I should move forward and be done thinking about it 😆. I'm old in years and old school I guess.
