Wow. Sorry to hear that the one you found wasn’t up to par. Mine is flawless. It pays to try some before buying it would seem.

@@RickHollis yeah it’s a bummer, Since Sweetwater has the feature of looking at your exact guitar before buying it I decided to see if it was just on the one I played in the store but according to those photos it seems like almost every guitar that they offer has these issues. I know since there is a truss rod cover it isn’t a big deal but for the bridge routing I would hope they would at least paint the whole thing. Not to bash this guitar at all tho, it’s amazing, just has some QC issues. Great review btw!

I could see the neck getting sticky for someone who has sweaty hands. For me, this guitar feels smooth to play when I solo/noodle. I'm an old school thrash/black/death metal type of guitar player so playing riffs constantly with this particular neck feels really good! Overall it's a very solid guitar dude!

I own one of these. The paint is so glossy. Th neck must have been polished twice as much too. Its the smoothest painted neck I've ever felt. It feels smoother then glass somehow lol. Whenever I pick this guitar up right after holding my jackson dinky with the bare maple neck, it always just feels feels so smooth. Yeah maybe a bare neck might feel more matte but you could possibly steel wool this paintjob for a different feel but I couldn't do it personally lol. I put the emg 81/85 with 9s tuned to E and I really like it but currently I am obsessing over the white 84 explorer..

It's perfectly fine to play in standard tuning. It came setup in regular concert pitch. Thanks for watching :)

They are named both AHB-3 and EMTY, so they are the same pickups

It was in the little plastic bag with the Allen Keys. Blink and I would have missed it.

I normally play emgs and the blackouts are awesome. The emgs have a sharper sound and have more high end but the blackouts have more low end, the emgs cut through a mix and the blackouts sound fuller (not that the blackouts don’t cut through a mix) I really liked the neck pickup in this guitar for leads and cleans, I’d totally recommend these pickups from an emg perspective. I tried one in a store so I don’t 100% know what it would sound like with my rig but it sounded great with what I was playing in the store at the time, great feeling and sounding guitar!

@@gravelrocks5588 I’ve never shopped at Zzounds but that sounds amazing to be able to return it if it’s not up to the player’s standards. I’ve been thinking about getting a charvel. I was talking to a guy earlier today and he had a brand new 2022 Charvel San-Dimas in Miami Blue. It might be a good alternative. I have too many choices and never enough money. 😂😂
