Glorious demo. I wish more people would take the same approach to sound demoing like you did. Incoming Uber module to complement the Deliverance one. Guess I'll end up buying them all, just to close a chapter :)) Can't wait to see the Uber module at work on the upcoming album!

I bought a Marshall JMP-1 when they first came out. I had it for about 3 months couldn't get on with it, so I placed an ad in Loot (A paper version of Ebay/Gumtree) wanting to sell/swap with someone with an ADA MP1. You can't imagine the responce I got the phone didn't stop ringing. I watched a video made by Paul Gilbert, he was using the ADA MP1 and it sounded great compared to the Marshall, that's why I decided to sell or swap. I done the deal with a guy from Edmonton, North London. We done a straight swap. Through the late 80's and 90's, the ADA was my No.1 amp. I ran the preamp through a Marshall Valvestate 8008 with an Alesis Quadraverb connected through the send and return. The Valvestate was connected to 2 Marshall cabs and that was my touring rig for about 10 years. I recorded an album with a band I was in at the time using that ADA setup. The cabs were recorded with mics as the direct outs wasn't that great. Sadly the ADA has fallen into disrepair (Display LEDs stopped working) even though the preamp still works, it's virtually impossible to program without the display. I now use a Synergy Syn2 system with Engl and Bogner preamps, the Quadraverb is connected through the send and return. I've retired the Marshall cabs and using 2 Engl 2x12 cabs instead. The poweramp is an Engl E840 100/100.

Nice. I had a similar ADA/Quadraverb rig with a Carver power amp and 2 Valvestate 4x12 cabs.

Does this Marshall do the classic Marshall "low gain" sounds? (Lizzy, Zeppelin, AC/DC)..Many people want a Marshall for the distinctive "Marshall Sound" ..This Marshall Pre didn't appear to capture neither a Plexi SL , JMP, JTM ..It was just generic high gain sound. Perhaps a bit 800 like?

While I really appreciate you demoing all of the modules you have, the IICP is very unique and requires unorthodox settings in order to sound it’s best. Here’s an example: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aa5gh9Cq1rfKomQ.htmlsi=zcQFxUc94uwKxXnm

This circuit sounds SO much better when the gain is dialed back. The plexi (crunch) channel has so much articulation, bite, and percussiveness, as long as you don’t over-do the gain. Neddi Stanz demo’s this module (while comparing it to the JMP-1), and it was one of the best SLO tones I’ve ever heard on KZfaq. He got the text-book SLO tone, that put Soldano on the map in ‘87. With this amp it’s more of a “Super-Crunch” than it is high gain. This module is worth the price, alone. The BE DLX sounds killer too.

If I had only played under 10 year of my experience, I would probably prefer Sammy. That would just do it for me (and everyone else during 80s - earily 2000s). These scales are commonly for Blues & Pentatonic. But now that I've been playing in the last 39 years and I've grown to a perfect circle (from Eddie, Vai, Rhodes, Malmsteem, Satriani, and SRV and I've done everything), I would prefer Tom's fusion Jazz/Rock skills. Jazz is a little outside of my comfortable zone. That's all. Lol. ✌

Hi Rick, thanks for the review, I have a question for this Jackson Mick Thomson model, for the tuning, this model is only built for drop tuning or still can keep in E standard tuning, I’m looking forward for your answer, thanks & have a nice day 😊

"good amp" ,...so far so good ,....but : How can I get spare parts for this type of amp ? What I need , is a new power transformer BP440 ( 230 V mains here ) I live in The Netherlands ,.....and NOBODY has spare parts here on the shelf for this amp . I can't even build in a universal transformer , because it needs a special dedicated type transformer for this amp. W.T.F. !!!!!!! 👺,.....and even no circuit schematics available ,....no nothing !!!!! 😖 What I consider for being a "good brand", is that brand for which spare parts are available !!! 👺
