Watched the entire trial. That Sheriff behind Brooks has had zero emotion on his face the entire trial, just a constant blank look, completely professional. It’s this victim impact statement that breaks him. You can see it in his frown-shaped lips. And when the mom talks about the last hug, you see him swallow hard. He swallows hard several times. It got to him, as it would any father. So sad. :(

I know this is about the murdered boy and his family, it was just the shot at their table that reminds me just how widely destructive DB is. He doesn't even have to murder your family member to hurt and damage you so much, that shows just how completely rotten he is to the core.

Listening to this heart broken mother read the most powerful victim impact statement is breaking my heart. Above all the losses this community has suffered this woman has brought me to tears. All the while this powerful statement is being read he crosses his hands and bows his head….does it look like a pose showing remorse? In my opinion I feel like he’s waiting for her to stop talking. Not one inkling of remorse, faking tears at his almost 2 hour uninterrupted statement. Not one real tear from this animal. He has no feelings and not an ounce of remorse. Your days in the spotlight may soon be over little man and seeing you sitting cowardly in front of a male judge shows how you in your sick mind think you are above a woman. What you did to Judge Darrow made people hate you even more. And your family asks for the proper medical treatment for you?! Why waste taxpayers money after what you have done. Stay locked up, stay locked up with the footage from the nightmare YOU created. Hear the screams of the people you horrified on what was supposed to happen a happy experience on 11/21/2021. But you took that away from this city, the whole city, the state of Wisconsin…..the country….the world. You are now known as the worst human in our life time. Proud? I hope these souls haunt you till your last breath. You will never see the freedom you had before that brisk day in November in a city unknowingly walking into nothing but horror. I think that Brooks’ gets through all this stuff without flinching because he tells himself, over and over, that none of it is his fault. He detaches himself. He manages to make himself feel resentful and angry listening to the victim impact statements. He thinks: how dare they imply that any of this is anything to do with me! People trying to disrespect and blame him AGAIN! Sure, he was driving the vehicle that struck and killed all those people. But he was being pursued! He panicked! The car kept going by itself! He didn’t set out to kill anyone, therefore he can’t be blamed. How can anyone believe that any of this is his fault?! His girlfriend talked back to him! The police chased him! If they hadn’t done that, none of this would have happened. It’s THEIR fault. Not his. A malignant narcissist can never admit blame, can never take responsibility. So he just doesn’t.

He tapped his chest…. Nope, Darell, you still don’t have a heart, you can stop checking.

I listened to multiple impact statement and cried uncontrollably. To not be able to protect your baby. This is so so awful and so scary. Even for the children who didn’t get hit, I couldn’t imagine the pure TERROR.

I know it is not good to feel and feed hate, or to wish violence or harm on anyone but I truly hope that the other prisoners torment and abuse him every day. And I hope he lives a VERY long time and every day faces relentless distress, anguish and fear. Even if he lived to 100 and was in distress and anguish every day, it would not be enough. AS he professes to believe in God & Jesus Christ, I just hope that there IS a hell so that he can continue to suffer for eternity. He is truly the most evil person .

I watched the whole trial and, in this moment, I completely lost it crying & sobbing listening to Jackson Sparks Mothers Statement and my heart (still does) was hurting so bad for her. The hurt in her voice made me hate and despise Brooks with every fiber of my body and then some more. When he was trying to show sympathy for her it made me despise him even more. Then when Judge Dorow started tearing up I lost it again and my eyes were full of tears again. I am so glad that he is never going to be out on the streets again.

I have followed this trial from the beginning, not once has this man shown any remorse or said sorry. Nor has he ever admitted what he did or the reason for his actions. Totally unbelievable.
