Jacob Collier: the only man on the planet who can turn a beach boys song into something that could have been written by Debussy

+random fandoms I agree! As a friend of mine recently posted.. some musicians get to this stadium , when they are beyond their 60's or 70's ... Jacob is at the Age of 24 to 27....pure Musical Genius beyond technical tricks and overdubs....

No, you did not transcribe this. I looked at "your" transcription, and it has the exact same notes, markings, and beamings as what I have posted on my own channel. It looks like you posted my transcription exactly as is, and then removed my name from it. If you want to put it on that website, fine, but at least have the decency to give me credit for the work that I did on it.
@MasterGio95
@MasterGio95 7 жыл бұрын
Lex Simakas Lol relax dude. I said in the description of the piece on the site that I transcribed it from a KZfaq video. I also didn't put my name on it. I'm not trying to take your credit. Just trying to help out people who want the score like I did. If it'll make you feel better, I can add your name to it.
@LexSimakas
@LexSimakas 7 жыл бұрын
Ok, I have several issues with your reply. First, please don't tell me to relax when I am not being credited for the many hours of work that I put into this. Second, your statement that you transcribed it from a KZfaq video is incredibly misleading, because you don't say which KZfaq video you transcribed it from (and the use of the work "transcribe" itself is misleading). You could have been more specific with that. Third, you didn't put your name on the transcription on that website, but you literally said here that you transcribed it (in response to a KINDER saying they wanted the score). Most importantly, you deliberately removed my name from the copy on that website. It should be on the far left near the title, and it's nonexistent. Please, you've already posted my work without crediting me, and you seem to take me for some kind of idiot at this point (though please correct me if I'm wrong). The least you could do now is apologize, credit me on that website, and understand the fact that it is dishonest (and plain wrong) to do what you have done here. Once that has been done, we'll be square.
@MasterGio95
@MasterGio95 7 жыл бұрын
Lex Simakas lol I don't take you for an idiot. I just think you may be overreacting bit. I still stand by my "relax" comment. And like I said, I can credit you. It isn't hard to do.

Any idea what mic is being used to record the piano in this video? It would be greatly appreciated! Also, do you think a lot of things were done to make the piano sound the way it does in post, or is it Jacob's playing and the quality of the mic and positioning that create this warm sound?

Johani Ponce Very talented musician but not capable of making an album like Jarrett's Spirits. Also the incredibly creative improvising from Keith's European and American bands of the 70's. Keith just has an incredible aethetic that no one can come close to and plays with feeling that's immesurable. What he soes with this song is nice but not unique. Would like to hear Jacob Collier play and interact with giants like Wayne Shorter or Metheny.
