Brilliant video,know the venue well as I grew up in Tottenham Hale, fished the Coppermill in 60s and 70s had lots Barbel,big Roach, Perch over 3lb back then. Had to get your ticket in advance from New River Head,Roseberry Avenue,London WC1, by post or visit giving dates you wanted to fish. Your dad’s touring with the Stones I herd👍

I know you are about carp on this channel but you really should have seen the Coppermill in its heyday before it was destroyed (like the New River) by turning off its flow. Then it resembled a gin-clear Dorset chalk stream with dense cabbage and streamer weed and was full of specimen fish of all species incl dace, perch, roach, chub, bream, barbel and even trout and grayling. Killing the flow made it easy for the (protected) cormorants to clear out the stream in a couple of seasons, leaving in its place a stagnant canal fit only for the remaining carp and bream too large for them to pick off. It was one of angling gems of N. London, now just a memory - what an absolute tragedy!

Quality vid, set up and captures, respect your application to the sport. I spent many an hour in that swim on the Lower where you had the pics done, loved my 18 months over at Walthamstow. Your Dad looks a great laugh!!

Took me back forty five years to fishing the coppermill ..at that time you couldn’t get access to all the stream , the swim we all wanted was No1 just opposite the gates and it was first come first served .I watched grown men fighting over that swim .There was some cracking barbel in there and you could bag up on quality roach .The carp were right under the bridge on the works side , casting right under the bridge was impossible at the time , our chosen method was a piece of polystyrene with the bait on floated down and pulled of at the right time ..all a bit hit and miss but we did manage a few carp and a tidy few barbel ..really enjoyed watching you fish in places we used to , with marginally greater success ..😂
