Back in the day (five years of days ago) I took a Digital Storytelling course-- my one and only foray into the world the Computer Science program (we are all welcome). Here is an overwhelming description of the course:
"This course will require you to both design and build an online identity and narrate your process throughout the fifteen week semester.
In many ways this course will be part storytelling workshop, part technology training, and, most importantly, part critical interrogation of the digital landscape that is ever increasingly mediating how we communicate with one another."
Boiled down? An opportunity to be yourself and do hard work and that be enough to count. (read: a unique space and time to geek out for points). It was so WIN. I ran across this old assignment for the class recently (it was for montage week or something excellent like that): Ted Kennedy's eulogy of Jackie Kennedy, who died May 19, 1994 at the age of 64. In celebration of Jackie and of DS106, I share this nerd showcase...

I remember as a little black girl looking throughout the magazine and thinking how beautiful she was and her style was impeccable. The President and First lady were mesmerizing to look at. RIP John John and Jackie O ..and to our fallen president John F. Kennedy.

Jackie actually has some black ancestry through her father's side. And I agree. No one else is touching her style. John F. Kennedy was a great President, despite how I do feel about him personally.

Jacqueline Onassis: She had two stunning marriages! One of the most glamorous and stylish women in the last 70 years! She was known to love money, education and travel. Aristotle Onassis wanted her because she was a famous First Lady of the United States! A famous person who photographers admired and stalked around the world! The funeral and the beautiful black dress and veil amazed me! An amazing incredible trendsetter who was fame, status and made the world more interesting/ RIP

I used to hear my Mum talk so much about Jackie and the Kennedy assassination. As I grew older, I too became fascinated by this extraordinary woman. I cannot begin to imagine how she ever came through the violent nightmare that was her husband's murder. What outstanding qualities she had as a human being and of course, how incredibly beautiful and chic she was! Nobody and I do mean NOBODY looked so effortlessly fantastic in clothes, she was amazingly attractive and classy. Jackie Kennedy Onassis was a true icon of the 20th Century and the world is better for having had her in it.

How cruel! Americans killed the President in front of his wife in the United-States. In that year the school principal rented a TV for the students to watch the tragic event. France loved J.F. Kennedy and his wife. They were hosted at the Chateau of Versaille for a banquet.

The photo of John Jr. as a baby at 3.45 in the film made me cry; what an absolutely gorgeous, sweet funny little chap he was - and what a great adult and human being he grew into. Modest, decent and full of grace. What happened to him remains an unbearable tragedy. The only good thing is that Jackie didn't live to see what happened.

A very smart and classy lady. Lady with a capital L. My mother the year we lost Jack, was also losing my dad, who died a year later, almost on the President's anniversary. She was 10 yrs older than Jackie had been at her husband's funeral, but even more lovely than Jackie. She always looked younger than her age and was with us almost to her 90th yr. For Jackie to have been taken so young is almost tragic. But for our Lord to have avoided having her see her only son, her pride and joy, die as he did with his wife and sister in law, does not seem to me too far fetched.

NasJones73 Ethel Kennedy totally neglected her children, and treated servants terribly. People see Ethel differently now, because she is old, and has had many tragedies. Yet people that knew her, did not have much of anything nice to say about her. I distinctly remember always having read about her kids roaming wild, and neglected. Jackie was a class act throughout her life, and had treated everyone she met, or who has worked for her, with great respect. Her servants had been with her for years, and where there when she died, After she died, her son John had said that Onassis was the only father he ever remembered, that they had had so much fun together, fishing, , sailing on the island of Scorpios. After RFK was assassinated, Jackie had said, if they are killing Kennedy’s, I have two prime targets. I’am getting out of this country. Who could blame her blamed her! Onassis gave them protection, and happy times, away from it all. They all deserved it. We all know that both Jackie and her son had died young. Ethel always had issues with money. Kennedys were furious with her. In the end ( when she still lived in the big mansion at Hickory Hill), it was Jackie who had come to her rescue financially.

5:05 I'm young and I did something similar to a report about the Kennedy assassination which was a very tragic time in U.S. history. But I think that she kept the nation together even after what happened and because of that and many other reasons I have a very large amount of respect for her. But that moment in the video was very touching because it showed how much she loved John and how much he loved her. She and John F. Kennedy didn't deserve what happened to them but even though myself and others crave for going back in time and fixing things, that is just a terrible even that you can't make any changes to. I also feel a large amount of sympathy for the daughter and son and the ages they were at the time. R.i.p.

Jackie was aware of this fact and she manifested it most time of her life as wife, mother, first lady, and a professional. She lived an imperfect but a fulfilled life worthy enough to be considered "royal".

@@leefrowning9821 3 years ago...she was suspected like all in and around limo. He speculation was she pulled a gun , others a knife. She is part of it , but not the one who actually shot him. She set him up via uncle George demorinshield who knew Os. Jackie talks to uncle George , George talks to Os. Os fired magical trajectories. Jackie is an accomplice . The first time I saw JFK shot in the head , and Jackie stands , was first done by Fran's Ferdinand and Sophie. The Az film is a copy of another assasination. The Az film of Oz and magical trajectories with Os. Az shot Kennedy from knoll and media's said it was Os on the six floor from behind the iron curtain and Oz magical trajectories .... Uncovers the dead Disney and associates. It suprised me Dorothy was in it and killed . Dorothy was covered up with the title , BABUSKA lady. If you knew about Dorothy in dealey , you would never believe it was true lies.

so very well made Sadie...touching glimpse of a total woman of strength. As she was leaving Dallas that day and the transfer of power to Johnson was taking place, she was asked if she needed to change her blood splattered dress. Jackie replied "no, i want them to see what they have done"...

@@beatlefanist Jealous? Of what? Ugly eyes and stare, flat chest, miniature stature, NO TALENT whatsoever, but just an immense all-consuming GREED? The 1st widow who married an almost twice older oil millionaire because she herself had no real worth -- unlike Marilyn Monroe or Maria Callas! Now, these two ladies had something worth coveting! Who'd want to be this widow of fakery -- a human mantis.

@@Irysee No many people understand how ugly was inside this woman, not just outside...She sold her body for money to the ugliest man, Onasis, a barbarian who made money by killing people. If she was so honest as a woman, she would have raised her children in honor, not at parties on Skorpios Island. Just few understand how cheap she was as a woman. And by the way,who order Marylin Monroe's death?People forget too easy...

@@beatlefanist I honestly don't find her beautiful at all. Attractive enough at best........ But her son was beautiful because he had the best features of two semi attractive parents. Too bad he was just another reckless Kennedy.
