Thank you Pam- Very helpful ! We are a farm. I am restoring a 1920s Hoosier baking cabinet. I am choosing the green spice jars and decided to purchase jadeite to use for a few everyday kitchen items, like S&P, butter dish, juicer. And I love them so much, I bought matching jadeite drawer pulls for the Hoosier! My sister enjoys hunting the shops for vintage. I am going to ask her to scout the jadite in her travels. I don't get out much, but will go to local yard sales, because we are a farm community. Really enjoyed your talk and demo. ~ Diane

Great video! Just fell in love with a single cup and saucer that I found at a local antique mall, never seen anything like it before. Currently doing a deep dive, and this video was SO informative.

Went to a flea market and they had tones of the jade pieces. They had different names like Sunbeam across the front. Are these worth as much??

I bought a mixing bowl that goes to an electric mixer but it's not marked. It's very thick and heavy like restaurant ware. Do you know anything about the unmarked pieces? Thanks.
@mamabear45764 жыл бұрын
It is most likely just considered a piece of Sunbeam jadeite (probably Mckee)as that was the brand of mixer they came with. These pieces can date back to the 30's and are still as durable as ever. Happy hunting! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/orqpdtqVsJO2gmg.html

Why are there canisters with the poinsettia lids and also with plain lids? Are the plain lids original or are they married pieces? Does it have to do with size?

Question for jadeite experts - Martha Stewart is selling new jadeite, and one of the warnings on her bowls says, “not suitable for boiling water.” I’m wondering if that means that you shouldn’t use the bowls to boil water, or that you shouldn’t put boiling water in them. I would think it meant the former and that it would be safe to pour boiling water from a tea kettle into a jadeite tea cup, or boiling soup broth into a jadeite bowl, but I just want to make sure. Any thoughts? Thank you!

Isn't fireking. From the anchor hocking company? Fireking wasn't a separate company

Who was the person she referenced that named the patterns? I couldn’t catch it
@nationaldepressionglassass11584 жыл бұрын
Hazel Marie Weatherman was a noted glass author and researcher from the 1960's and 1970's. She named many patterns.
@nationaldepressionglassass11584 жыл бұрын
Pam also mentioned Gene Florence and Dale Kilgo in her presentation. Dale Kilgo was one of the first authors to talk about jade-ite.
