Team GB's Jade Jones wins the women's taekwondo -57kg gold medal by defeating China's Hou Yuzhuo at the ExCeL - South Arena 1 as part of the London 2012 Olympic Games (9 August).
Taekwondo is a traditional Korean martial art, which means "the way of kicking and punching". In taekwondo, hands and feet can be used to overcome an opponent, but the trademark of the sport is its combination of kick movements. Taekwondo is one of the two Asian martial arts included on the Olympic programme. Taekwondo made its debut as a demonstration Olympic sport at the 1988 Seoul Games, and became an official medal sport at the 2000 Sydney Games.

I just started to do taekwondo and im loving it im inspired to keep practicing and working hard to overcome anything or anyone, I khow im a white belt but i feel like every day i learn something new im proud of Jade Jones for representing her country and making it that far i will also love to do the same taekwondo takes respect, dedication, and time to keep getting better. thank you Jade Jones for insipiring me to never give up. i khow im late its been a year.

Good how Jones didn’t give up in the final minutes of the match, even though she was only ahead by 2 points. And it’s how Jones kept on going so she could go to the final

Great moment for British TaeKwonDo, what an event !!!! It will be burned into my memory forever. Well done Jade and well done to all our competitors, it's a great achievement to even get on the olympic team. If only i was 20 years younger i'd have been there !! Probly

Title is wrong as the video shows: Jade Jones won the Olympic Gold medal in the -57kg category in 2012 (& 2016), not -67kg. Well done Jade ;)

That 'English woman' is actually Welsh, the Welsh flag she paraded with gave that away, points to you on observation. If you failed to notice her nationality then you'd understand that I won't trust your scoring observation.

Hou Yuzhuo - from Hebei just like Chinese Actress Zhou Dongyu. An Korean actor Lee Joon-gi also was in a film with actress Zhou Dongyu. But for Korea - I like Dae Hoon Lee in taekwondo.

back leg round house kicks are a lot slower and very easy to spot. she would be opening herself to an attack. sidekick checks are good for making their opponent drop their guards and to test distances
