I think the “dark period” during Gilbert Grape was because of his breakup with Winona. Tim Burton said that that was the worst breakup hes ever seen him go through. And that he wasn’t the same again. So like damn.

Johnny said he went through the dark time, because of the fame stuff happening to him. Plus, the movie was about a dysfunctional family, reminded him of his own dysfunctional upbringing. He had an abusive upbringing.

The one good thing about this trial is I knew nothing about Johnny Depp except what I saw in his movies (and I’ve really only seen a few)… now I have watched countless hours of interview clips. MY GOD- this man is a genius at life. He is so AUTHENTIC. Hilarious. Genuine. Brilliant. Fun. Complicated. Introspective. Gorgeous. Intuitive. Gentlemanly. Sensitive. Accomplished. Classy. Gritty. Spontaneous. And sweet. The fabulous layers just go on and on and on…and on… What a man. What a light. What a soul… and somewhat of a tortured soul, too!

I agree with everything you just said. And I want to do the same thing. I never doubted him, not once. He and I are only a couple of years apart in age. So in a way we sort of grew up together. I've watched every movie he's made. And I check in on how he's doing every once in a while. Not once in ANY of his past relationships did he do these things that he's being accused of. Violent men usually start out young. I have never heard of someone who waits until they are in their 50's to start being abusive. SHE is the monster, she even has a history of abusive behavior from past relationships. He has such a beautiful soul and I know he's hurting really bad right now. When we love someone, and that person turns into a monster, it can be confusing and scary. I'm glad he got away from her. Abusive people get worse and worse over time. And a lot of people end up dead because of them.

Man, its not hard to tell hes a super shy and anxious person. I can relate on that note, but its clear why he does confident outspoken characters so well. He can hide his introverted self behind those characters

Ive noticed a lot of neurodivergent people change their accent and way of speaking depending on who they’re around. Johnny def does that. I think weirdo Amber even said he did that around her southern father. I think it’s endearing.

JD is the most engaging man. To me he is one person that has a depth beyond most of us. His divorce, and defamation trial will are not going to hold him down. A real lesson in letting go and completely being true to yourself.

I never watched JD movies until this trial and now I'll watch everything this sweet gentle soul is in. I figured it was a trial about an abusive guy but instead the guy was the victim! Johnny Depp is no abuser. What a travesty. I hope the jury gets this right. 🙏 Justice for this man, Johnny Depp ❤
