Why do The Jag make this VDO in 2 versions? XJ8 and XJR. It's absolute luxury brand. hahaha. I love the design. It's low as Ferrari and full of chrome as Rolls-Royce.

Too many buttons for my confidence...if Jag could botch the electrics in a fully analog car with only a heater fan and a couple of fuel pumps then how can they be trusted with this gizmoplex?

This was in the Ford era...nothing wrong with the electrics. I own a 2005 XKR and have no electronic issues whatsoever.

Most of the video is about electrical functions. Jaguar electrics were the most unreliable part of the vehicle. Bottom of every reliability league table. You just know that everything is going to fail.

With the bl cars this was a ford and has ford electronics

@@lotusjaggarage2989 Yes, most electrics sourced were the cheapest in the Ford parts bin. Ford was losing billions and had to economise wherever they could. In the end they were bailed out of bankruptcy by a $21 billion US taxpayer loan. That's why they had a fire-sale to get rid of junk like this to the Indians at Tata.

@Uncle Joe Stalin I saw Ford advertised that they hadn't used tax from the people. I heard that USA government had given money to GM.

@@MitchGrooms or if you get a 2002 with a build date(engine build date) later than August, you get all the upgraded timing gear from the factory. I have an 02 xjr 100 built in December 2001. Took a cam cover. And there the Morse chain and metal tensioners.
