I think I’ve watched every video about these cars on KZfaq over the years and this man’s observations are dead on accurate. These cars are future classics.

@@abdulazizsaleh9567 they are absolutely unlike anything else in driving experience, so smooth quiet and comfortable, not unreliable but when things happen they will cost a little more than a regular car, mine has been reliable for a while but it may need a transmission rebuild soon

The X308 is, in my opinion, the pinnacle of design for the long running XK. The 'L' version being the pick of the crop. Here in the UK good examples of these cars are becoming increasingly hard to find due to rusting from the garbage climate we have to endure. Thus, if you have one that isn't rusted through then you are sitting on an appreciating classic. Some cars age gracefully, and the shape of the XJ never conformed with the efficient German designs that continue to ever-change. Like the Bentley Arnage, this car will continue to maintain a strong fan-base, and are now increasing in value. Great video.

The downside of these cars were the original timing chain tensioners.

Also nickasil cylinder liners can degrade with bad gasoline in places like California.

I had a similar issue with the restricted performance. I cleaned the throttle body with break clean and the issue has never resurfaced (it's been over a year)
@AddictedMotors3 жыл бұрын
Did that and the MAF, no changes

I had the emergency run issue due to the hose from my airfilterbox connected to the front sidepanel rightside. It was displaced, therefore messing with an airflow filter, and after I refitted it correctly, the issue was gone.

Enjoyed the video. You're right, this platform is not a sports car, but there's plenty of power and good handling when you need or want it.

i seen an xj8 on offer up seller stating it has under 50.000 miles and is selling for 3.500 . Makes me wonder. He didnt even list the year witch is weird.I have messaged him and am waiting for response. He stated Low Miles at 43.215 and that he is original owner. Sounds to good to be true.

The starting issue could be an issue with the neutral safety switch. I have that issue with mine, just put it in neutral and it starts right up. Just found your channel and subscribing!

I was told when I purchase my Jaguar from the Ford dealer near me, the saleman told me to pulse fuel in it during the summer month and regular in the winter month. Is that true or not .

Premium. Always. Especially if u live in the US…the additives in our cheap gas will result in some heavy shop bills otherwise. Best just to spend a bit more to run cleaner fuel thru it

The reason it didn't start is because you have to have your finger directly on the face of the Jaguar key ,if not it's not going to start.
