This is a beautiful find. This isn't just any XJ6 but rather the more upscale Vanden Plas version. I love the color and the condition of the interior. They just don't make Jaguars, or any cars for that matter, this beautifully styled anymore. That empty box that you are referring to in your video is the placement of the Jaguar tool kit. The previous owner has obviously took the tool kit out and it's no longer there hence the big blank space in the middle. Those tool kits are quite rare and the previous owner must have known that because he removed it before you got the vehicle.

The compartment in the engine bay with the fuse diagram was for a small tool kit. Unfortunately, North American cars were not so-equipped, but you can buy a 'replica' (note the quotation marks) took kit online.

Excellent! It's a shame there are hardly any good repair vids on YT for this great car...you should do more of them :)

Thanks for making this video I did not even know where the spark plugs were at first. lol Just curious did you have to use all 13 valve cover seal washers or do you not need the 3 in the cover over the coil packs? Thanks
@fixitjames33884 жыл бұрын
I used them all. I just didn't think about the ones in the valve cover when I made the video.....

Nice presentation. I have to do this to my 95 xj6, as you know, it is not easy to find repair info on this car. Thanks. It appears that Parts Geek has this gasket set cheaper. I purchased a power steering hose from them and it was a good fit.

@Fix it James Thank you for your very detailed, informative video! I have a 1995 XJR Supercharged and need to replace the valve cover gasket also. I was skeptical about doing it myself at first, but now since I have watched your video, I feel like a Master Jaguar Mechanic! I will order the parts from the same place you ordered ( I paused on your receipt and got the places info 🤫.....I'll be sure to let them know I am ordering from them due to your video), so as soon as they come in, I will replace mine. I usually would watch different videos to get a second opinion, but you gave off a vibe that assures me that this one particular video was all I needed.....once again, thank you very much! I am now subscribed to your channel.....oh and by the way, if you happen to have to do any replacing to your rear differential, please upload the video as soon as possible. Be safe and Bless you!

Are all these new parts compatible with a 1988 XJ6?
@abrond.slaughter72933 жыл бұрын
@RafaelC There is a slight to huge difference in compatibility when it comes to these cars, I would inquire about parts compatibility through a respectable authorized dealer before you make any kind of of purchases for parts!
