This guy is one of my favorite producers. Its like he making these beats we love for the first time how he re-create them right in front of you. Then he dont really use any major technology, just that trusty ASR and ProTools. This guy is one of the GREATS.

Its alright to sample songs, but as a jazz/r&b/soul pianist I find it kind of pathetic to see "producers" sample chord progressions by using 1 note which essentially sounds like a full set of chords, but behind the scenes its really not them playing the whole progression its sampled chords lool. Well atleast Jake gave credits to the guy he got it from,but a lot of the so-called producers just put a bunch off sampled loops from logic or FL together and call themselves producers the next day, which is why most producers sound the same now a days.Like I said sampling SONGS is all good because its part of hip hop, but instruments like pianos,synths,etc should be done based on your OWN inspiration, what he's doing is just plain out taking everyones work and putting it together with no originality.S/O to the real producers like terrace martin,Robert Glasper,pharrell,eric hudson,kanye,hit boy,travis sayles,40.....
@gcornelius308
@gcornelius308 8 жыл бұрын
hit boy actually has a video where he's breaking down one of his beats and he says....."started with this loop". and it's common knowledge to a lot of ppl who follow producers that on niggas in Paris that lead is from a big fish audio SAMPLE PACK! point is, the best producers use whatever method or tool that makes the beat sound good. ppl don't get into making beats because they wanna someday play Carnegie hall.

Pooch Piano then that's how u should feel about sampling whole songs u idiot. you're still sampling no matter how look at it.
