Jake Paul drops and knocked down Tommy Fury in round 8 and still got lost via split decision. In this video, I will share my expert boxing analysis and fight break down of each round of Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury fight. The knock down on round 8 is controversial as people saying it is just a slip, but to me it is a clear knock down by Jake Paul because his punch connected and hit Tommy which caused the knockdown. What are your thoughts on this? Let me know in the comments.

I have a few thoughts after watching this fight. First of all, I think Jake Paul did pretty well after all, but his weaknesses are pretty obvious. Tommy Fury on the other end, I am probably harsh when saying this, but he should stick to modelling and reality shows. I don't think he has what it takes to be a world class boxer. He is mentioning his age a lot, but we have many examples of 23 year old boxers that has made it to the top and are world champions by then. I don't see world class boxing potential in Tommy Fury. He did enough to win against Jake Paul, but then we also have to say that Jake Paul is not the proper quality measurement for a boxer with ambitions. So ... we learned something about both of them I would say.

His dad said he would retire him and he has no place in boxing if he lost. Not only that his dad agreed for tommy that if he loses the fight he doesnt get paid at all. Those are besides the whole he doesnt deserve the Fury name thing if he loses.. his father and brother put a completely ridiculous, unnecessary and unfair amount of pressure on him leading up to that fight. It still bothers me his father said he would retire his son, as if his son has no right to do what he wants with his life and his father decides his career and path. I dont think ive ever seen a fight with that much pressure shoved onto one of the fighters.

Spot on Tony.that was a really good unbiased review......that point that was took off JP was a bit much, you can see clearybthat it wasn't a purely thrown back of the head punch. If JP sorted his range out instead of following through being so low down he would have the time to up his inside game which is crap but you can say that for TF too.

Couldn't agree more. I've been a fan of boxing since the age of 3 because it was something I watched with my Grandpa every week, and I love that it's starting to come back to the spotlight in the past few years. People are caught up on kickboxing/Muay Thai/MMA knockdowns though, which isn't the same. You don't have to be "hurt" to be knocked down. You lost balance and touched the canvas with your glove because you were out of position and got hit? Knockdown. It's called the sweet science for a reason - don't off balance yourself throwing. Anyway, I hated Jake when he started out and now I've got nothing but respect. He's been serious about boxing and putting in the massive amount of hard work the sport requires. Not to mention he's been getting boxing to people who otherwise wouldn't have watched. Loved the video 🤙

@@MtpMuzik Absolutely. Referees for example know A LOT more about the sport than any of the people actually doing that same sport. So yeah, you can learn just from watching. Your point is irrelevant. Further more, Silva is not a boxer, period. He is, was an MMA fighter. MMA and boxing have almost nothing in common. And yeah, Tommy Fury is a piss poor boxer, but he's still a boxer, and I'm not. Of course he would stomp me, or anyone who doesn't box for that matter. Even 3 to 6 months of training makes a difference between two ordinary men in a fight, so there's that. If you see someone driving a car and crashes into a tree, you can clearly see that he's a bad driver. You don't have to be one yourself. I don't understand your points. Maybe it's a language barrier. I'm happy that Tommy got the win and taught Jake a Boxing lesson. The fight should've been scored as a majority decision rather than a split decision. The most generous decision you could make for Jake is a draw, and that's being EXTREMELY generous since Tommy won rounds 1, 2, 4, 6, and 7 whilst Jake only won 3, 5 and 8.

100% agree. While it's Nice that Jake and his brother have brought eyes on the sport and increased the audience, unfortunately they've brought a lot of eyes that don't really know what it is they're looking at. The damage doubles down when the commentators control the narrative by calling out things that aren't necessarily the case in the fight. I heard a lot of "50/50" being called out, also the comment about "one being a boxer, the other a youtuber and if you didn't know who was who you couldn't tell the difference"... I don't know about anyone else, but as someone who's watched a ton of boxing in my life, it was fairly easy to tell who was the boxer and who wasn't, from the first bell to the last. In the end, it's all business, and the fight being labelled as a controversial win, or closer than it actually was only increases hype and publicity for the inevitable rematch. The boys will make their cash and the game will go on, as it always has.

You're a casual if you think Tommy looked awful in his previous fights. He's an an awkward in and out fighter who looks to win on points rather than get knockouts. He throws excellent combinations on the front foot and his lateral movement is very good. He does have weaknesses, but his previous fights actually showed promise and were far from awful.
@RealYRM
@RealYRM Жыл бұрын
@@NusquamTamenVerum I was surprised by both of these guys. Tommy was the better fighter, but Jake hung in there and did a lot of counter punching. Jake's knockdown was a counter jab, where he slipped the jab and landed his flush as Tommy walked into it. This jab hurts more than most because you walk right into it. Any boxing fan has to be pleasantly surprised that this was such an enjoyable fight to watch. Tommy deserved the win, but it wasn't like he ran away with it... and the threat of Jake was felt throughout the fight.

@@NusquamTamenVerum "were far from awful" Tommy is a bum, he couldn't even knock out Jake paul. That fact that Jake even won 1 round, much less 2, with 1 round i would say being a draw, shows how much of a bum he is.

@@blackbull3188 look at his fighting style. He doesn't go for knockouts, he goes for points and does it well. He nearly doubled Jake's landed shots, that's a very convincing victory. Jake Paul is a showman. I don’t believe he is as serious about this as he leads people to believe. He is far too inactive for someone at his level. He fights one or two times a year. Someone on his level gets better by fighting and staying active and fighting up to 3 to 5 times a year really. But he’s a multimillionaire and I doubt he has that drive to fight that often and it would be risky for him. And he signed up for the MMA league - PFL. So that tells you a lot right there.. Jake is a showman getting after the bag. Props to him. Tommy didn’t look get but he looked like a real boxer. I was okay with the decision, but would have not been surprised with a draw…
