Mike Tyson's new interview on FOX News about his fight with Jake Paul is pretty interesting. Mike Tyson says that he is faster than Jake Paul from his leaked 1-second training videos. The great thing is that Tyson from this Fox News interview is that he is taking this seriously and training properly for their upcoming fight. Iron Mike is still one of the best heavyweight boxers of all time but Jake Paul could still land a knockout punch and bring him down.

I'm the best ever. I'm the most brutal and vicious and most ruthless champion there's ever been, there's no one can stop me. Lennox is a conqueror? No, I'm Alexander he's no Alexander. I'm the best ever. There's never been anybody as ruthless. I'm Sonny Liston, I'm Jack Dempsey, there's no one like-I'm from their cloth. There's no one that can match me. My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable, and I'm just ferocious. I want your heart, I want to eat his children. "Praise be to Allah"!

I love listening to your analysis. I find it very honest and very interesting. I am biased towards Mike Tyson because I love his style. Shear power. He has been a hero of mine ever since I was a little kid. He represents to me that 80's magic and nostalgia. Jake Paul I have to say I respect that he trains so hard and decided he wanted to be a boxer and all that but personally I feel like Tyson is going to pound him so hard that he may quit boxing altogether. I think it could be a Michael Spinks event. Pow Pow it's over. Ding ding ding.

Every boxing commentator is gonna eat crow July 20. Speed is not only measured in punches speed but reaction time as well. I am gonna make the assumption that Tysons reaction time to punches and hand speed is better then Jakes. Anyone who has fought knows what I mean. I would rather have a good reaction time to slip then raw punch speed on any single day. Jus sayin Tony I love you bro I ain't talking smack on you just stating my opinion

This fight, regardless of outcome, does not tarnish the history of Iron Mike's impact on a generation. Nothing will change that. If he wins, which I believe he can, it will only further his impact. In the Roy Jones exhibition, I believe he saw that he hurt Jones early, and carried him the rest of the fight. If he does that here, it will not wim him the younger generation, not that he needs it. That's the only negative. There's this concern about Mike being seriously hurt because he's older. While that is a concern, it's also a concern for any fighter, at any time in their career. Boxing IS dangerous at any age. I respect Mike for getting in there.
@CID5202
@CID5202 Ай бұрын
Sadly in the eyes of the younger generation, he will never be viewed as the same... we will always know how great he is, but either way this fight goes his legacy will be tarnished. There's no possible way Mike gets out unscathed even if he wins, and once you hurt a god he becomes a lot less intimidating.

@@mrmaxaxl sure people do, but the issue is that while we saw in person Mike climb to the top (even I'm a bit too young to have seen him at his absolute best) while now the ones coming up that we'll be watching in 10 years only have him fighting a ragebait content creator purely for money. It's genuinely embarrassing to watch. I loved and looked up to Bill Nye as a child, then I met him in person and was shocked that he was an ass and never looked at him the same. Similar principle here - the only real fight this next generation will see is this one... and it's at best a shadow of what he's been capable of even if you know he was once great.

@@diocub4022 Douglas was 42-1, at his peak, and an actual through and through boxer. Doesn't compare in the slightest. Anyone who has ever been able to land a blow on Tyson in his winning days would tear Jake Paul apart in their prime... irrelevant information tbh. There are no videos of Douglass dancing around out of shape acting like an incel, or rage baiting people for money, or scamming people, or anything else the Paul's have done recently. You ALL fail to understand certain things. Mike Tyson is MIKE TYSON. Its in his HEART. Fighting IS who he IS. I understand age can be a factor at times, but I keep getting the feeling some of you are discrediting Tyson because of age. Tony Jefferies and Jake Paul have been TAUGHT to box. Mike Tyson IS a boxer. He can do NOTHING else. George Foreman IS a boxer. Michael Jordan IS a basketball player. Thats why these came back when others COULDN'T at certain ages. I’d agree about heart- but heart is also seen as part of durability (the mental toughness to keep going after getting hurt). But it’s important to note, As you get older, your injuries don’t fade fast like they used to, he cannot afford to make mistakes in the ring as he won’t recover during the breaks between rounds as quickly. Peakaboo is also dependent heavily on athleticism, he is no where near his prime. Mike is no longer iron mike in his body, but may be iron mike in his mind. woul But I do agree that his heart will definitely be one of the things that keeps him going.

Yeah you're right Tony Jeffries, such a short clip of Mike Tyson training does not prove anything, he do look fast and strong, but can he takes punches at that age? His training clip is not a full video , it's sec of sec cut-clips. I'm all for Mike though, win or lose I hope he'll be alright after the fight.

this will basically be a fight where u can see boxing wisdom vs youthful experience. the age old debate essentially. the thing both are totally fine with which rocks a lot of people is the pressure of the moment, tyson is used to it and jake paul essentially grew up in the media spotlight so it’s not like either are going to have an issue w crowds like other fighters may deal with anxiety wise.

You're not wrong. One detail I would add is that i think Bruce Lee was right about speed being dictated more by tendon strength (maximum isometric training) moreso than age or size. I was lucky enough to train like that when I was young, and I'm grateful to say that even old and fat I'm still quick enough it's noticeable to people I train with.

Best heavyweight boxer ever was Marciano, 49-0, never been beat, so how could you elevate a boxer who has losses above Marciano as 'the grestest heavyweight boxer ever'?, makes no sense, Marciano is the standard that all heavyweights should aim for, Marciano number 1 and then insert the next AFTER Marciano.

Laid back and relaxed is the optimal way to fight… Just ask Bivol. Calm and collected, focused on the work and nothing else. Also, there’s no “ruining of Tyson’s legacy”, full stop. Even if he loses, he is still the sole living heir to Cus’s system and a legend of the sport. I don’t care if he decides to fight a dozen times and loses every last one! He is a fighter and I respect the fuck out of him, regardless of the outcome.

Hey Tony. Love your channel. I'm a bit of a geezer and even the "masters" division (USA Boxing) which is 35+ has a 10yr diff rule. So you could only fight a guy w/ in your own decade so to speak. It started well, but as they go to heavier gloves and 1 minute rounds it ruined it for me (and many). No more skill, just a one minute sprint slugfest. If you're not gonna show some moves in there, why box?! lol
