This was the fight that truly elevated the skillset of KZfaq Boxing. The first time we saw someone rely on actual Boxing fundamentals/technique and combine them with their physical attributes. I honestly think that out of Jake's first 6 pro fights (all before the Silva fight), this was by far his best performance with how he dealt with Gib. Without this fight, I don't think YT Boxing would be as skillful as it is today.

For me this fight alone started the best storyline in KZfaq boxing with Gib. From devastating defeat and mockery to Redemption in Miami to revenge on social gloves. Almost a 3 fight arc of watching a boy become a man. You can just see the change in Gib as a man and it’s why he’s my favourite of this scene

I was rooting for gib that fight and i almost wonder if the three knockdown rule wasn’t in place for that fight how it wouldve played out. Because if Gib got back to the corner and viddal and leon could coach him up. Because when you look at the first Mcbroom fight Gib was too wild got knocked down but was able to adjust and win the fight. In all likelihood the result would be the same or worse. But that was also when Jakes nose would get busted up every single fight and no one could really take advantage of it before he got it fixed.
