I think that maybe Jake needs to proceed with that video anyways. Change it, of course, so it would be probably lighter in tone and not an obituary, but still "what it means to be alive" sounds like a quite interesting topic worthy of a video.

I remember the moment when you posted the first video about having cancer... I was shocked obviously. I just had grown very attached to your way of explaining and describing things. I learned a lot from you and the other Vsauce guys! I am very happy that we can enjoy your presence a little longer! You are an inspiration, and makes me a little stronger in my battle with depression. Thank you Jake.

I'm amazed he managed to keep his leg. Knowing how cancer could spread, part of me would want it all gone, just in case.

In my case I ended up losing my leg... at first they just removed the cancer but it came back... so they were just like "Okay, it's way too dangerous to keep it now". In the end, I preferred having an amputation, because my sarcoma was in my bone so after the first surgery I had little movement on my foot and limped way too much.,

Advice to myself and everybody else who has last seen a doctor 2003 : Go see a doctor for a routine check. Even if you know that he will tell you things you already know like you are obese and high blood pressure (i have over 90 in the lower pressure). It can literally extend your life. If doctor finds not much wrong it's only a good thing! Not a waste of money.

Jake is a real good sport. The guy on the right was being a little too straightforward about the cancer questioning, but I assume it’s because he knows Jake is cool with it. I certainly wouldn’t ask these kinds of things in such a tone to anyone who had cancer, but Jake never seemed uncomfortable about it.

I know how you feel. I had radiotherapy for my benign tumour, and the fact that it will give you cancer later on in life is really harsh since my tumour is in my brain. And due to the surgery, I can't take any hits to the head now, which is especially bad since I now listen to death metal.
@darlantro

Sorry that happened to you. I'm in cancer research, and prior Radiotherapy exposure increases the chance but it doesn't mean you will get cancer. It's like... living in the USA increases the chance you will be shot by a gun, vs. living in Australia or the U.K.,... you just have more exposure to people with guns in the USA, it doesn't mean that you will be shot. Its very good that you're thinking and staying vigilant, catching lumps and weird stuff early makes treatment easier.

There is a pretty big difference between grading and staging of cancer. Grading looks at the cells themself (how do they look, how fast do they grow) and staging looks at whether or not the cancer has spread throughout your body. So in grading, a grade 3 is a cancer cell that is rapidly growing, may or may not be spread yet. In staging, stage 3 is the stage where cancer has spread to surrounding tissues (so to your bones, muscles, fat cells surrounding the initial spot) and possibly also into your lymph nodes, this cancer can be a slow growing grade 1, or a fast growing grade 2 or 3. Stage 4 would mean that it has spread to a completely different, remote location (for example to your liver). The importance of the stages is that it has an impact on the treatment. A cancer that is at a stage 3 or will most likely be treated by treating your whole body (so by taking chemo pills for example), stage 4 is the same but at stage 4 you are very likely never going to get rid of it. So I'm guessing he had a grade 3 (like he said) stage 1 or 2 sarcoma.
