Great video! If I could make one correction, the church at the end is not the Church of the Little Flower it is actually the Coral Gables Congregational Church. Definitely beautiful and they have several events and concerts throughout the year. Little Flower Church is about three blocks away and also worth a visit

Great video that brought back happy memories from living in Coral Gables for many years. Coral Gables was (and still appears to be) paradise, and it's so nice to be able to see all of the familiar attractions again. I hope your video inspires a lot of people to check out Coral Gables and Coconut Grove when they plan a visit or move to Miami.

Excellent. The only thing you missed is the beautiful tropical campus of our Alma Mayer, The University of Miami. Go Canes.

I am biased, but you are correct...there is no place on earth (I'd argue) that compares or is a better place to grow up than Coral Gables! However, 😬 I didn't raise my own kids there cuz Miami in general was cesspool in 1992 when I bolted up and out at 19 years old to go live in a small mountain town in WNC. Apparently, a lot of Miamians did the same thing! Anywho...great video and review of Coral Gables aka The Gables💜. Our house was across Dixie from UM baseball stadium, which used to be called Mark Light stadium. We always had season tickets to the games and I was literally born on UM campus, (Doctors) and grew up on campus Ron Fraser sports camp (softball), Hammil-Perrine Tennis camp. Mr. Hammil's kids were part of my carpool to school, he drove an old Volvo, as did the Greek UM professor and kids who joined carpool. In other words, not fla$hy ppl back then. We had what I called "United Nations carpool" 😁😁. Venetian Pool all the time as a kid and pool was in fact drained nightly cuz water was always 'cold' to us kids...cept the kiddie pool😐. The caves, the high dive and the higher dive that got closed cuz i think a tragic accident...? There used to be a hole to swim thru in the caves but I think it eventually got closed too. The Biltmore, mercy beautiful! Went to science and photography camp there one summer, which was a fluke but I remember being obsessed with the drained, decrepit looking pool at that time cuz it was so 'eerie' looking. Played tennis there a lot, my friend worked at hot dog stand on the green, and mercy the stories! Coral Gables house as we called it, my friend lived in 16th house built in CG across the little park behind CG house off Granada, and we had full rein of the grounds basically, could park and chill there anytime for the most part, and the caretakers were a husband, wife and baby boy toddler and he drove a Monte Carlo (the dad, not toddler😁). I could type into next year about how wonderful Coral Gables is and oh but ya, our house location was perfect...for criminals cuz how close it was to Dixie hwy, a quick getaway if one wanted to knock someone out and steal their car...like they did to my dad as my mom watched from kitchen window!😡😡 That was definitely the worst crime that happened on our property, but certainly wasn't the only one! The small mountain town I raised my kids in for 20+ yrs...2 yrs after I moved, but 1 adult child still there, a home invasion occurred 2 doors down. Everyone was ok but, crime can and does hit everywhere unfortunately. I spent a full 20 years away from Miami, 1997 to 2017 and each time I visit since, has had an extreme, noticeable difference in the vibe and its a positive vibe with ppl being friendly, waving etc like a small town vibe (also noticed ppl stopped waving in small town😐) and I was actually shocked, but in a good way and I hope Miami and Gables, Grove etc keeps on staying nice and stay The Magic City, and The City Beautiful! Ok gota force stop myself from typing! Thank you!
