It’s an amazing car! I got this car when I turned 17 last year and I can say it’s very reliable and just an amazing car in general

Brendanlyons12 late reply, but I have a US MK5 Jetta 2.5 w 265k. Been a great car, as I’m typing this I’m on vacation and the MAF fell on its face and left me stranded but got that all taken care of. I’ve put nearly 100k on it and haven’t had to do anything to it besides basic maintenance. Taken it a handful of 13+ hour road trips w o a hiccup. would definitely buy a 2.5, or a TDI, good luck!

Sebafer2 update: that car I had to sale unfortunately because of the transmission issues. I put 5,000$ into fixing the transmission and it went out again no more than a week after paying all the money to get fixed. Since then I now drive a 2018 Jeep renegade and it’s super reliable. It’s been a year and a half and so far no issues

I think he has a soft spot for the mkv jettas, he used to do all sorts of reviews of his dad’s 2007 jetta.

I have a 2008 Jetta I thought I lost the key fob so I started using the spare key to lock and unlock. Once I found my key fob it messed up some of my doors locking and unlocking. Well at that point some intruder around 2 weeks ago got into my car around 3 am setting off my alarm they got in because all my my car doors wouldn’t lock. Now all my doors don’t lock at the same time the light on my drivers door the red light blinks , but I’m able to open it and the alarm won’t go off now. I’ve watched KZfaq videos after KZfaq video. A friend of mine came over 2 days in a row trying to help me fix it that’s why I need advice from a car mechanic.

Bad power lock actuator. My mom has a 2007 Rabbit and we've gone through the exact same thing (even had been broken into). Usually locking it with the key in the door will lock them all but it still needs the lock actuator replaced before it fails completely.
