Great video!.. the one that I learned the hard way was not having a fast enough SD card.. got out to a pretty sweet location only to find out that the footage was super choppy when I got back home.. ordered the proper SD card the same day

Besides as a beginner not flying to low to water. What is the recommendation for setting obstacle avoidance? I have heard others say to turn obstacle avoidance off when flying over water. Is there a preferred method?

It doesn’t really make a difference. The biggest thing is watch your height and make sure you stay above the waves!

When I got my Air 2, I saw mist on the lake - and proceeded to, about a foot over the water 💧way out there. 🙃. I was lucky; it could have ended like a James Cameron movie.

Ha, I didn't realize hand-catching/launching was considered advanced…I'd seen enough people do it in videos by the time I got my first drone (Mini 3) a month ago that I just figured it was no big deal and was practicing it on like my second or third flight. (Well, the catching, I just tried hand-launching earlier this week.) But definitely lots of good tips here.

Water : The first time I took my replacement Air 2 out, I was at a familiar place. I flew around and shot some nice shots, then went out over a lake. I was about 70 ft high, but as soon as I was over water, it descended FAST. I shoved the stick up, got it back up in the air, and hightailed it back to the land. The old one never did that, and the new one has never done that again.

Question: It is a good ideea to buy Air 2S combo and another 3 battery separatly? After 3 years I hope I have some good battery left to fly. With Mavic Air ( 1 ) the combo pack I do not have anymore batery left ( all are dangerously bump up and anytime can explode or take fire ). I searce to buy battery for Air and di not exist any in Europe. So sad.

Another one is to make sure and pay attention to the wind and the battery on your phone or tablet. Making sure than when you fly out that you make sure you fly into the wind. Or at least make sure that your drone is capable of flying against current wind speeds. I had an incident where I flew out with the wind and had a really hard time getting it back home because the wind was too strong. Also, I have a samsung fold 3, I like to use it in the open position. If my phone is nearly dead the controller is incapable of maintaining a charge. Basically it expends energy at a greater rate than the controller is capable of recharging at. I had an incident where my phone actually died mid flight. I had to rush to plug it into my car charger while my drone hovered because the home point no longer existed. After a few min of charging I was able to get my phone on and it was able to return to home.

A common mistake when updating the drone is forgetting to update those extra batteries in your Fly More Kit!

Colab's are neat and all, but making me go to another channel to see the rest of a video just so someone else can get some views is kind of annoying. I get the purpose, you both are trying to get equal views and grow your channel, but it's still annoying. If you all did two separate videos on to separate topics and promoted a whole separate topic on the other channel that would be one thing, but to make the viewer have to watch two separate videos on two separate channels to get the full content of one video is not ideal IMO. (although it also probably has something to do with the fact that for some reason, I am not a fan of Jeven, I can't put my finger on it, but something about how he presents his videos makes me feel like he isn't sincere. I know you two are buddies, and I like your channel / content / personality, just not Jeven's for some reason.)
