the tomy one is definitely better than this one imo. i prefer the sculpt on the tomy figure and it reflects the artwork better. the jakks pacific one is a little to sonic generations for me. I do the like mania theming though. overall both are great.

I'm glad that more Japan inspired Sonic figures are being made now since we'll probably never get a figma or S.H Figurarts of Sonic, it's nice to have more Sonic figures with swapable hands and faces.

Definitely prefer the TOMY since it has a more accurate classic Sonic sculpt instead of the Generations 3D classic Sonic

I saw the tomy Ultimate figure at my local gamestop and I Didn’t get it and I’m so mad but now this new figure is amazing so I can feel what the tomy one would of been and my new one is coming soon and I’m excited to open mine I’m so pumped

The figure looks cool but honestly the Tomy figure was objectively a better figure. It had better sculpt, much more useful and well designed articulation, more accessories that had more variety of use, plus the peice was much more worth it. Seriously I dont think people stop to think about just how good that figure was. For only $30.00 you got a sonic figure with at least 4 pairs of different hands, 4 sets of eyes, 4 sets of mouths, a ring, a chilidog a mini acrylic arm to hold the ring on a base, an acrylic arm to hold sonic in the air on the base, and a green hill themed base to pose the figure on AND it holds all of the accesories when they are not being used. FOR THIRTY DOLLOARS. This thing costs 20.00 more and it comes with almost nothing in comparison and it has less articulation. Most premium companies like bandai, mafex, and figma charge you average 50.00-100.00 or more for just a figure with some hands and faces.

I really hate to compare it to TOMY’s Ultimate Sonic but... I highly prefer TOMY’s Sonic. Just more unique/cool looking and more posable. I’ll still most likely pick this guy up though. He is a really nice figure.

The design is not as good as tomy because Tomy sonic at least had the ability to pull of iconic poses where he is jumping or running with no flaws in the pose this figure is well he’s more accurate to modern day classic sonic depictions like mania but the Tomy one went for a more sonic 1-cd style it’s just at sega most likely made tomy make the sonic they made that lighter blue at is more like mania so i guess the choice depends on what classic sonic version you like more the modern classic or the original jpn/pal style of sonic I kinda played sonic cd as my first ever sonic game and I live in the uk aka a pal game region so I know the original classic sonic a lot more than what we got force fed by sega after all think about it sega has now went here classic sonic here classic sonic there so we would forget the original classic the cd boy the 1 boy the 2 & 3 Boys get it this is the more commercialised by sega version of classic sonic meanwhile Tomy literally if I use a line from a song sega no longer owns the lyrics to “if you try you can do anything” that basically describes the sonic I saw in the Tomy ultimate sonic this one makes me see “sonic boom sonic boom sonic boom” basically good but not as good as the jpn song see how I’m using sonic cd music as a metaphor for the figures Tomy is the jpn “you can do anything” and jakks specific is the U.S “sonic boom” still good but not as good as the “you can do anything”
