At a distance 37 km from Yelagiri, 37 from Athanavur and 13 km from Thirupattur, magnificent Jalagamparai Waterfalls near Jadayanur is created by the River Attaaru running through the valleys of Yelagiri Hills. It is one of the best places to visit in Yelagiri Hills.
#Jalagamparai #waterfalls is flowing down from a height of 15 meters, the place is popular among lovebirds. Bathing in this waterfall cures diseases because it passes through various herbal plants in the hills. The falls has a trek route and also a motorable road. The falls can be reached after 1.5 hour trek of 6 km from Nilavoor (6 kms from Yelagiri Punganoor Lake). It is little tough trek, but the view of the valley from the falls is truly amazing. Local guides are available to guide the trek to the falls.
The motorable road passes through Thirupattur (13.4 km away) which needs 5-10 minutes walk. The isolated location of the waterfalls attracts people in large groups for picnicking. The flow of water in the Jalagamparai Waterfalls has considerably been reduced as compared to recent past years but its charm and picturesque beauty is still intact. Adjacent to the Jalagamparai falls, there is a Murugan temple located within a building constructed in the shape of a Lingam.
Jalagamparai Waterfalls is at its best from November to February when it is gushing with water but the waterfall is dry in summer.

Jalagamparai Waterfalls, VelloreThe Jalagamparai Falls are located in the Vellore district of the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu. This beautiful cascade flows from the famous Yelagiri Hills. The height of the Jalagamparai Falls is about 15 meters. This cascade is created by the descent of River Attaru in the area. In order to reach the Jalagamparai Falls, one needs to take the 6 kilometers trek downhill from Nilavoor, which lasts approximately an hour. It is preferable to visit this cascade post monsoon season, as it remains dry during the summer months. This waterfall is a hot spot for the local romantic couples!
Access Information
Families visit the Jalagamparai Falls for picnic and a daylong outing. These falls can be reached from Tiruppathur, at a distance of 15 kilometers. The nearest aerodrome to the falls is at Bangalore, at a distance of 193 kilometers. The small rail head close to the cascade is Jolarpettai Junction. A 75 steps stretch from the cascade leads to the famous Lord Murugan Temple, who is the local deity of the state.

Swami Malai Hills
This hill is shaped in the form of a cake and is popular amongst mountaineers and trekkers. The highest peak amongst the hills near Swami Malai measures 4338 meters!
Nilavoor Lake
Boating is the primary attraction of Nilavoor Lake. A small garden is located at one side of the lake. A Devi temple owned by Kadavu-Nachiyar also adds to the divinity of the lake.
Punganoor Lake
Boating and rowing are undertaken by the tourists at the Punganoor Lake. A fountain is placed at the centre of this artificial lake.
