Dr Tharoor makes his conversation so encouraging to listen more and more. His voice, personality, is just as our Mahatma Gandhi. Carry on Dr Tharoor the way you are going. He is so natural original Indian product. He do not copy no one. This is how Gandhi left for us to follow. Be yourself. As I said I have respect for Dr Tharoor and I love him for who he is. He is precious for us Indians.

Loved this interview. Especially "Rudyard Kipling... that flatulent voice of Victorian imperialism..." - had me bursting with laughter! Mr. Tharoor - it is always a pleasure to listen to you. And you are far more patriotic in your polished English than the chors sitting at the heads of all our political parties at various levels speakign in regional languages - from the gram panchayat to the PM - this includes all parties (Sadly - Corruption and cheapness do not seem to be the monopoly of any one political party!) Reminds me of the yesteryear Raj Kapoor song from Shree 420 ... "Mera joota hai Japani". India has not changed much since then... :(

For 1.05 - Dunno 'impecunious' has a Sanskrit root which means cattle. 'Pashu' is the root. Pashu got altered thr' the North Germanic Languages before reaching the Greek and 'Pecus' and as cattle was the currency or the wealth earlier, 'Pecus' began to mean money. Thus 'im(not) pecunious' = no money

Shasis Tharoor's abhorrence for the British rule in India is very obvious. Its true 200 year foreign rule of India is much too long. But one must ask this question: Would it be possible for any foreign power to take over a country in a short time as the British did with India. The British East India company landed in Surat, Gujarat state and moved inland towards the east, first as traders and then as colonisers with the least amount of opposition.

At least Dr.Tharoor has got the ideas for the British elites monarch people to put all the wrong's which they have done to India and the Indians for past two hundred years ago. There are something call Respect Dr. Tharoor teaching the British elites group of people that the stiff upper lips need to loosen up and learn something to have room for improvement articulate with the future Super Power which is India. Indians will never have that kind of behaviour of Racism, discrimination, hate, looting rape as the Britishness have done. Indians are a race of people do not act with Ego. They have being the Rulers in the beginning of Time. They don't spilt Blood, no Wars to get to be the SuperPower. Indians work with God. God is Work.
