I'm Jamaican, one of my sons graduated from imperial college, London with a degree in computer science, he's been working for Google for some time now and actually in teams who develop these computer intelligence, the last one is highly educated in computer software,he dropped out of university but did an apprenticeship with Facebook, from a child he was addicted to computers and just naturally knows how to think above the computer so his job is now going to businesses solving issues staff has with using their computer, the eldest one works as an investment banker, and they are all traveling to Jamaica shortly

I’m proud of this young man and I love the way he’s thinking. Remove the degree limitations because AI is so new that everyone is learning it on the go. I often wonder why Jamaica hasn’t been doing this. We have some very talented, tech savvy young people in Jamaica. Estonia has done it and India has done it. We’re so close to the U.S., why aren’t we doing it? It’s madness that we’re not doing it. It’s such an amazing opportunity and it’s a great way to take Jamaicans out of poverty. We could raise our GDP exponentially in the next 5-10 years and pull many out of poverty. Jamaica can become a tech hub and create another industry other than tourism.

This is the future of Jamaica... Happy to see young Jamaicans getting in at an early stage. I know someone who will be interested in this, He is an animator at heart and this is right up his alley.

Also, it is not just about young people, middle aged people can also learn these skills. People in 40s and 50s can contribute 10 to 20 yrs of work...

We have struggled with getting Jamaican and overall Caribbean businesses owners interesting in the value of data and using this information to run their business.

Leave the University mindset...these are all short-term trainings, break it up in modules...remove the barriers to entry...eg University degree

I saw a documentary about training institite that was established in one of the country side somewhere around the 1970s. Students were trained on all areas and the documentary said they couldn't get enough students or teachers so they allowed persons from other countries
