hello dear ones. I traveled solo in jamaica with the general idea in my country (Netherlands) of visiting the most criminal place. But that is NOT the case. Im a woman, and I had never ever had such a beautiful, warm, cosey, healing experience when on vacantion. I had a real deep vision to come to Jammy...wich surprised me so much...like my soul poited out to go there for serious. I had spiritual experiences and a very strong connection with the soil, ocean and the locals. Now I am going back and live there hopefully for the rest of my life. I came home in Jamaica. And I would love to do something for the locals... they are loosing more and more beaches for themselves.I find this so painful. I got plans to help also the ocean. I want to thank Jamaica for the deep love, kindness, openness, profound communications, humor, smiles, flirtings, sharing and the hugs. I just love you. see you soon! hugs

I am one of the people who live in the U.S. and was hit with the travel warning. I made plans to come to Jamaica with my cousin, to celebrate our birthdays and she backed out due to the travel advisory. I’ve traveled to many places, Cuba, Haiti, Mexico, so I was not deterred. I am still coming to Jamaica, and look forward to my trip. I am not naive enough, to think that I do not have to use common sense when I travel, or to be aware of my surroundings. You have to do this any where you go in the world, even in the most swank luxurious places, and particularly in the U. S.

Glad to know you are still coming. Your friend in America is more likely to be killed in a unpredictable gun shooting at a mall, place of worship, movie theater or sleeping in her bed. If she's black her chances of being dead is two folds. In the USA blacks get killed just for breathing while black. America is the enemy of the world. Have we forgotten the Sept 11. Jamaica has NO enemies. No country is going to threaten us or disrupt our lives. Americans allowed themselves to be brainwashed by their government. The warnings was issued to deter foreigners because Jamaica has tourism down they are the biggest threat to USA territories.

As a Black Woman who's been going to Jamaica for many many years, Jamaica is different for DIFFERENT TYPES of people. I don't see alot of discussion Online about this. One has to pay attention to subtle behaviors and sometime NOT so SUBTLE that can sometimes be missed if you don't go to Jamaica often. How you look does play a MAJOR part on how you get treated by both male and female Jamaicans. Nuf Said❤

Curious, how are you treated as a black woman tourist in Jamaica?
@user-dv3kq3rm4h4 ай бұрын
You said ALOT without saying it. I know exactly what you mean. Of course she had an amazing time in Jamaica- she benefits from colourism and proximity to whiteness in a dark skinned majority country. Likewise, she has probably experienced discrimination as a Non-White woman in Australia. I find her stance quite naïve though, certain Jamaican men love gullible women from outside the culture (but love the culture) like this. There's plenty of single white mothers in the UK with the Jamaican heritage dad nowhere to be seen.
@islanddweller42634 ай бұрын
I have watched this young lady and she clearly has good energy. I have also seen African sisters who also have very good energy. The energy you give is what you receive. Many Black American women sometimes come across as combative and caustic, especially when interacting with men. This is why many brothers are leaving the US to countries where the women are more feminine, agreeable, and inspirational. Model the behavior that you expect to see from others. I am speaking as a Black man who has lived in the US for almost 30 years and dated a few ethnicities before finding my wife - a Filipina.

KZfaq recommended her channel to me couple times I clicked on it about a month ago and started watching her videos. I love her. I love her authenticity. I love her open-mindedness. And I love seeing how she’s being greeted as she goes about her travels publicly. Jamaican men, culturally, are not looking for the Kate Moss, super thin or anorexic woman to be their companion. But one thing to keep in mind is that there’s a high percentage of cheating lol with these men. I’m a Jamaican woman. I know of that which I speak. ❤ Not all men are like that. But there’s a high percentage of that. Which is to say, that aspect of the men is not that much different from many other countries. Many other paternalistic societies in other words. I love you both. Keep up the great work. ❤

What exactly is misleading about this video??? She is speaking from her experience so far. Also, she did make mention that visitors are to be cautious, and she doesn't go into volatile areas like many Jamaicans who doesn't. Are you saying that gunmen are just out here killing any and every one because it sounds like that is what you are getting at, and that is certainly not true.
@KaceyMcNeil4 ай бұрын
Real Jamaicans? I guess I'm not one because I have never in all my years felt unsafe living here. Violence here is mostly gang related and is concentrated in certain areas in Jamaica. I grew up in St. Elizabeth, and even now when I visit home I sit on the verandah with my grandparents until late in the night. In December, my husband and I along with my siblings and childhood friends walked from the bus stop to my home at 2:00 AM without a care in the world.

I liked this positive, uplifting video. Jamaica is a spiritual place for some people, especially if one needs a break from the over-the-top materialistic culture. It's organic, natural and healing, like she mentioned. Some call it their 'happy place'. I have come to accept, however, that Jamaica is not for everyone. For those who get excited by developed infrastructure and in-your-face material affluence, things might feel too understated for them. To each his own. Just don't tear down the country. If you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all.

Winthrop, I met with you personally at Travellers on my visit to my birthplace and hometown of Jamaica in march 2024, and by watching this video and to be honest with you I’m seeing that no matter who or where you’re from whether it’s Jamaica or not there’s still a certain form of resentment in our world that still exists especially if someone is not within certain circles which I do see as a double standard no matter where in the world anyone may go.
