In 1985 the director EVV SATYANARAYAN garu came up with idea " what if women became men " written a story & sends to Adhra Jyothi news channel but that story was rejected by news channel because they thought it is worst story. And after shared with master ( Jandhyala ) garu & said good story but we don't know how the audience will receive. Idea went silent. Few years passed & in 1992 EVV garu thougt he needs to make a different comedy movie then his idea of " what it women became men " and make it as a full fledged script & thinks of Rajendra Prasad as hero. Writer Divakar babu helped with story development and dialogues. Made a deal DVV dhanaya proceeded to make a movie but at the time Rajendra Prasad was very busy in other movies, so they decided to go with Naresh and a narrated the story, after they casting was filled with full of comedians. The title was reverse gear but the producers didn't like the title and director evv change title to " jambalakidi pamba ". In only one month they have completed the shooting. In 1992 December the movie was released but the result was no one cared about this movie show they decided as it's a flop. After EVV directed varasudu movie it was Blockbuster. In 1993 July 12th day released " jambalakidi pamba " again slowly the movie became recognised by audience and it became Epic blockbuster & again and again the audience going for this movie. Makes 2+ crores at that time.. After this movie effect if anything appears reverse they call it as " jambalakidi pamba 🤣🤣"
