I never knew how bad anxiety could be until I lost my mum 5 years ago. Three months later I thought I was having a heart attack and from that moment I was in fight or flight from the minute I woke up until I managed to get to sleep. Everything was a threat. My GP referred me to a specialist and I was diagnosed with general anxiety disorder and was put on medication which helped me function. Slowly over the last 5 years I started exercising, practicing meditation and mindfulness and it has really helped. Im not on medication now but sometimes the anxiety will still jump in, I can handle it better now though. I’ll probably delete this in a few days but just wanted to say that if you are going through this, don’t suffer In silence. Speak to your GP or mental health charities if you are struggling.

I can completely understand this. However your experience was magnified. You’ve come so far James. It’s awful when you are in your head too much and it’s debilitating because the messages become more and more self-critical. So proud of you and thankful. You have been my 💊🙏🏼🥰❤️. Thank you so much for the sharing, caring and your beautiful music. It’s so important to continue to talk, sadly the loss of beautiful Caroline Flack is a testament to this. Nobody would have ever thought. I wish you could see yourself as we do. Kind, caring, great communication skills, super talented and honest. It’s often the people you would never think are suffering because they appear on the outside to be happy and doing great in life, yet unknown even sometimes to family are struggling with depression which untreated or not talking end up as bouts of debilitating mental health problems. Things really are improving however more help is needed, when the only help is an hours group therapy miles away. I have faith things will continue to improve. So many will and do need help after the suffering many people have experienced this last year.

Anxiety is pure wank. Regardless of who it hits and to what degree.

I never thought I would wish this on anyone, but I really do hope you experience a monumental panic attack with all that it involves, come back then and tell me what a "wank" it was :)

@@lucarossi5604 I've had several large panic attacks and I'm fully aware of what they entail. CBT is helping me but it's a slow journey. Shame on you for wishing that on anyone let alone a stranger. I'm Scottish so was using "wank" as a term for something being bad. If you are unsure of a term, just ask, instead of wishing a truly horrible experience on someone.

My bad. Was not reading the "accent" just the content. Ex Military and suffer anxiety and panic attacks badly. To see them called a "wank" was what prompted that response. Good luck with the CBT.

Hearing 'Recovery' the first time - I felt it like him saying to himself "F***K it. The art of music is ME! Not the industry (that's those 90 percent of the job) but those 10percent of pure, genuine creative presence. Btw, YOU ARE recognized, James! It's the people you've helped and healed immensely with your soooo genuine, raw, authentic passion, energy and talent. People DO react and absorb the energy and creative vibes you keep sending. Bless you! And Thank You 💘 🙏
