People have forgotten how good he was. He didn't do da Moonwalk or backslide but he did a equavalent move just look into da KZfaq archive's. He had a move where he looked like he was doing da moonwalk sideways & everytime he did da mash patatoes backward it looked similar to da moonwalk. He also perfected a move called da. Camel Walk 🚶

It was 1967 I was 17 years old, the first live concert I ever went to was James Brown in St. Louis, went with my buddy and his girl and my girlfriend who 3 years later I married. When I went I had never heard of Mr. J B. One of the greatest shows I’ve ever seen. Mind blown.😊

I too saw James Brown @ 8yrs old in 1968 my sister took me to see him @ da Regal Theater in Chicago still remember dose plush burgundy velvet curtains with da tassels on da bottom opening up before he came out & da band was playing There was a Time & U could see his shadow behind a thin white curtain before he came out. Man he put on a show dat night 🌙 I think he had just released Popcorn. We also saw Billy Stewert da original singer of Sitting in the Park & I do Love U. He put on a great show too. I think he opened up for James Brown dat night. 🌙

I saw James Brown for the first time when I was six-years-old in 1967. He truly was the hardest working man in show business! As a family we never missed him when he appeared in Atlanta. But my fondest memory of him was when my Dad spotted him at Atlanta’s Airport on Christmas Day. Dad pointed him out and encouraged me to go tell him I was one of his biggest fans. I was about ten-years-old. “Hey Little Sister! Merry Christmas!,” he said! One of my best memories, evah!!

I saw this Soul Brother in 1975 when I was 8. I could not stop looking at his feet, it was most amazing thing I’ve ever seen. And the sounds coming from that band was some of the greatest sounds my ears had the pleasure of hearing. I was mesmerized that evening. I went with my mom and older brother in Fayetteville, NC. What he could have done if he had a cordless mic in his day.

My sister and I would go to the Apollo see him when we were teenagers. He was and will always be a the hardest working man in show business. His band was spectacular, their percussion was incredible. Glad I lived in the era of the G.O.A.T.S, when talent was king and I enjoyed every minute of it.

I saw him live at the Garden on my birthday after he was released from jail. A perfect performance is what he gave and he can play every instrument in his band. During the intermission BT Express performed. Best concert I ever went to..Raw Talent 👍🏿👍🏿💪🏾💪🏾🙏🏿🙏🏿🔥🔥😊💕💕

The man's music is literally a great component of hip hop music. His breaks were so accessible to DJ'S when they were just playing breaks in the early and mid 70's. Sampling which came in the mid 80's made it easy to capture what the earlier DJ'S were catching on the 1 and 2's....the producers could now put his breaks on wax and create what later became known as hip hop. Wow!!!! An incredible BLAST!!! From my past. 1967, I was all of eleven years old, I came from a large family. We loved to dance and listen to music! All the families in our neighborhood also enjoyed the same. We’d hang out on the porch with a record player and blast James Brown, and tried to emulate his dances. They don’t have talent like did back in the day.

He was the most prolific unique singer of-all-time. I don't mean only soul singer, I meant of any genre. There are so many fabulous Rock bands, Dance bands, Hip Hop groups, Funk, Blues, R&B artists that are to this day fantastic. But James Brown was a trailblazer ahead of the game.

YESS YES YESS…Where all the other impersonators of dance followed, James Brown shone the light and lead from the beginnings. Prince, Michael, all those RnB singers who can dance their arses off do it from the inspiration of James’s moves. That’s why he will always be head and shoulders above all others with those outstanding dance moves.

@@mayganphynix8267 I’m 60 now. Been around a long time, Please inform me who apart from the Nicolas brother may have inspired James Brown to move like he did. I saw him three times in real life and have seen dozens of dancers try to emulate his moves and when they did, no other hardest working showman’s name came to or even comes to the minds of those but James Brown! Always been in a class of his own just as the likes of Prince & Micheal…

Nobody on the face of this planet can beat James Brown dancing and performance including Michael Jackson. Prince, Usher, and many many more absolutely no body. Can top his showmanship. I have been watching James Brown and seen him perform at the Howard Theater in Washington DC when i was 13 years of age. I am 75 years of age and have seen many shows. Check out James and his performance, that is why they called him the hardest working man in show business. God bless James. I hope he is smiling down on the world 🌎. All I can say is well done James well done. Thank you for your time and talent 💯

I saw him in concert when I was in the 8th grade & he shook my hand. When I got home I told my mom & dad , I’m never washing dishes again 😂 He is my favorite male artist. ❤

James Brown’s moves were next level and before their time in some aspects. In these videos I can see how much he influenced Prince’s showmanship overall. Just an incredible, amazing hard working artist.

My dad’s all-time favorite performer. My dad was such a big fan of his he would often copy many of his dance moves and could do them pretty well.

What a great upload, showing decades of this man's life. In many of the video clips he's over the age of 45, but at 8:06 he's 71 years old, that's how impressive this man was. Over 6 decades as a performer and 5 decades in the entertainment industry, he was a powerful performer till the end.

Today's younger generations have little to no idea what a magnificent force James Brown was during the sixties and seventies. And he fronted a band of actual musicians who played actual musical instruments, not just nobodies with zero musical experience pushing and sliding buttons on a synthesizer in a studio.
