Check out Danny Ray's intro for the Godfather in Africa for the Mohammad Ali fight. The "Rumble in the Jungle" against George Foreman 1974. The Godfather and his awesome band performs a "Soul Power" that is absolutely off the charts. Phenomenal.

Name, had several shameless copies of some Sly songs. No way am I knocking Miles, the man was a genius. Actually he did two complete shows by himself with his band, this one filmed in 1972 (shown in 1973), and 1974 (with the mustache), but there were also a few other performers that did the entire show with their band also..

He only did two complete shows one that he recorded late in 1972 when it aired it early 1973 and then the 1974 appearance with the mustache. He had the mustache from 1974 until 1978. I recorded them both on cassettes. And you can easily look up on line and it will tell you exactly when he appeared on soul train to do both shows.

James Brown; May 3, 1933 - December 25, 2006 For those who haven't noticed, this isn't one episode. It's a bunch of segments strung together. JB appeared on "Soul Train" February 10, 1973, February 17, 1973, May 5, 1973, and September 14, 1974.
