Parents should all know predators are on platforms kids are on... and they need to have frank discussions about it with their kids 🤷🏼‍♀️ The problem with things like multiplayer games online is anyone can talk to anyone - even if they put on age restrictions (like a kids group and an adult group), predators are still going to go into the kids group... educate kids on online safety and they will be safer- if they aren’t good at decision making and staying safe, monitor them more 🤷🏼‍♀️

Candy crush uses the same psychological tricks as poker (slot) machines so the addiction can be just as bad. My ex's mum was completely addicted for years to the point where her phone screen had a grid etched into it from her finger when she played.

The thing about the guy spending $4,000 on Candy Crush is sadly not surprising. Those apps make shit like power ups or boosts only a $1.00 or two to get, so you think oh I'm not spending much. But they make it so the game is insanely slow unless you go the "pay to win" route. So it slowly racks up the charges without you even noticing it. That's also why a lot of those games also cater to kids who are younger, because they don't have much of a grasp on monetary value and are also impatient. So they kids just keep smacking the pay button because they want that instant gratification. It's honestly a predatory style of making money.
