Not only smart as hell, but playing the rounds with a calculated, crushing plan. Answer the early $1,000 questions, bank 7-8k before the daily double, then risk it all knowing the majority of time even the so so players get it right and get an early, insurmountable lead. Then crush it more in double jeopardy. Amazing course of action.

Whether he becomes the all-time winner or not depends on so many variables, not the least of which is what questions are asked. The panel that draws up the questions could decide to throw in more stumpers, i.e. questions that haven't been asked before and questions that you don't find on trivia bots. It would be fairly easy to stump Jeopardy players by digging into a category that required an increased level of specialized knowledge that just doesn't usually show up on such trivia questions. But they probably won't do that since they'll benefit financially from the increased ratings of him winning.

He might not have won the most, but he was the most entertaining huge winner I'd ever seen. (Granted, I started my regular watching [thrashing my family, and then getting thrashed by my sister when she visited, because her rules didn't require shouting the answer in the form of a question, where mine do] shortly before Ken Jennings went on his streak, so I didn't see most of the other huge winners.)

Other players: I should probably wager less than $5,000. James: I should probably wager something above $5,000 or all of it.

That moment when even with all that he wagered it was still impossible for the other two people to win with that (if he had gotten it wrong, he would have had 11000 or so, and second place would be at 10800 if she had bet everything she had)

Dang! You are doing great, James! Ignore all those negative comments. You are almost at 2 million dollars! At this rate you will pass Ken Jennings in no time. Ken is a terrific player but you are so fearless. You bid an outrageous amount in the end. Your playing skills are remarkable. Best of luck to you! I will be watching every night and cheering you on! 🤗

James has broken on a few not difficult questions. There is the possibility that if he misses on a large Daily Double wager a strong competitor could step up to win.

Yes. An extremely slim possibility. When he originally broke the 1 day record last week, he bet it all on a daily double before double jeopardy, but he remains champion to this day.
