Hydrick was born in South Carolina to a 30-year-old father and 15-year-old mother. His father was abusive.[3] In 1989, he told an interviewer that he started learning karate at age six to protect himself from his father after seeing one of his brothers beaten to death. He and his other siblings later lived in a series of foster homes and orphanages.[4] Hydrick was convicted of kidnapping and torture in 1977.[5] He escaped incarceration three times: he kicked through a concrete wall in a Georgia jail, broke through gates at a South Carolina prison, and finally, in 1982, he pole-vaulted over a fence at a state prison in Utah

Wanted on an outstanding warrant, Hydrick was apprehended after police saw him discussing psychic powers on the talk show. In 1989, Hydrick was sentenced to 17 years for molesting five boys in Huntington Beach, California. After serving his sentence, he was remanded to Atascadero State Hospital for treatment under the state's sexually violent predator law. Psychologist Jesus Padilla described Hydrick as "an extremely difficult patient" who suffers from pedophilia, paraphilia, and antisocial personality disorder. Hydrick petitioned for release in May 2013, but a trial resulted in a hung jury.As of 2013, he is housed at the Coalinga State Hospital.

Man, that last 'trick'. With that track record Hydrick would've gotten so many punches to the arm in high school it would've fallen off. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, we had this stupid game in high school where two people had to face each other with their hands held out in front of them, palms together, and look into each other's eyes. The goal was to either smack the other person's hands (and the other person dodges it) or feign smacking them and, if they still flinched, you got to punch them in the arm. You basically had to be supernaturally good at psyching out people's intentions. Hydrick would've failed epically.

We played that in Jr. High back in the early 70's . I didn't play much because it hurt like hell getting my hand slapped. We also flipped quarters using our lunch money - illegal gambling taking place on school grounds.

For us that one was mainly separated into two different distinct games. "Slaps" where the person whose hands were below the other's hands had to try to slap the top of their opponent's hand without missing (if you missed then it was your opponent's turn to be the slapper), and eye-position didn't matter. The other game was just "Arm-Punching [until you give up/wanted to quit]". Both were pretty easy to me, but I always liked a ton of games of finesse, speed, agility, or know-how. Plus, I juggled a lot, and practiced a lot of arm & hand twisting movements with throwing-knives & a bo-staff; so I absolutely ruled at 'slaps'. As for the arm-punching one, I wasn't exactly above-average strength for my age or anything.. so I learned to just aim my seemingly ridiculously-prominent middle-knuckle right for the "funny-bone" nerve that effectively runs through the dead-center of the upper arm, lol.

Even if someone could move stuff like cards, so what? It's not like he cured cancer or something.

How could you disbelieve a man with a cut like that? Screams 'legit'.

It was a fashionable " pageboy " haircut style in the late 70s and early 80s.

Good work by Hydrick, anyone who exploits the stupidity of others to make a living doesn’t sound anything like a faker, he sounds like a respected businessman!
