I had the best seats I could buy to see James in Baton Rouge so that my wife could see him which was something she always wanted more than anything. She was recovering from major brain surgery and was doing well. The very day he was scheduled to perform, she had a very sudden relapse and instead of going to the concert, we spent the night in the ER. Three months later she was dead from a previously undiagnosed glioblastoma tumor. Nothing he will ever sing will do nothing but bring me to tears. “Going to Carolina” is the hardest since it was one I played late one evening as we drove to...Florida (!), on our first road trip together in my first new car. That song came up on her favorite cassette and i looked over at her in the passenger seat and she was sound asleep. That song and that moment will never leave me. She was so young and beautiful. We were married for 27 years and she was twelve years younger than me. She died four years ago and I still miss her so much.

I would sing along to keep my brain engaged on the long, boring drive from home to college or back, roads that I'd traveled many times before, JT's voice and songs are in a range that my poor, untrained voice could keep up with, and I could sing as loud and as badly as I wanted, because I was alone in a noisy junker car. Ah, nostalgia...

Nope, he was on an island off the coast of Spain and met Karen that he mentions, there. He searched for her at some point. Having a friend do a sketch. He thought he found her in Copenhagen. Your not even close, goes to show how complete bullshit gets started. I watched him say exactly what I just said. so it'd not hearsay.

When my youngest son was in Kirk Singers at the local Presbyterian Church...they must have had a great director there, not only did they all go surfing together, he had the kids singing James Taylor songs.... and one day I said, hey you're playing my cd that's cool, he said no Mom...that's my CD we sing it in church. I was so proud. Thanks James Taylor for being a guy who's an inspiration to kids...in a positive way.

I heard him sing TO ME when I was in high school. I'm now at the stage of reminiscing and hoping for more years to hear him sing. He composed songs that resonates with the many passages that life pass through Relationships came and went but James stayed and helped me deal with the pain. He has always comforted me. Knowing that I have a friend in him made believe that that's why he's here. I've never turned away. He is more than a handy man. I love you, James.

My mother introduced me to you 35 years ago so I'm doing my best to return the favor by introducing her to you in concert this coming 4th of July. Thank you for helping her deal with her pain when I was a very sick child and thanks again for helping me do the same with my very sick daughter now...

I'm from South Carolina, but moved away when I was 12. Been back a few times to visit family, but it's not the same. Often I slip into a trip on memory lane and explore the old memories of my childhood. Songs like this put it perfectly

When you get the chance you should go see him live. I've been over the years. He always plays this song live. There were two consecutive years in high school when I went to see him where he actually opened his show with this song.

My older brother joined the Columbia club back in the 70's and James Taylor was one of the 8 tracks he ordered....along with Santana too... beautiful music from back in the day ...thank you!
