Ohne Filter was a popular music program run by the German public TV station SWF from 1983 to 2001. The show featured international pop and rock artists, who would typically play a 45-minute set in front of a live audience in a TV studio.
This Ohne Filter James Taylor special was recorded on March 27, 1986 and first broadcast on January 2, 1987.

🩷 This song both for James’s voice and the song’s lyrics! He’s aged well in my 70ish y.o. opinion, but I don’t recall EVER having heard THIS song before today. IDK why it hasn’t more views, comments, or 👍 - are there NO other ‘Baby Boomers’ out there who have seen this (from 2 months ago) I wonder 🤔!? Taylor’s music was a large part of this generation’s culture, and popular music, as were Dylan, Neil Young, etc.

I agree with you, but it’s not only J. T. who has overcome his drug addiction. There are many others too who are still performing just as well, if not better, after going thru the same. * For instance - Clapton + Beth Hart - just to name 2.

When I was 5 yrs old my parents had a big problem because I would sneak out of the house with my dolls and a stroller and pretend baby bottles (for the trip) and I kept trying to run away to James Taylor’s house! (From Texas) My dad told me he would walk next to me asking me if I knew how far California was because that’s where James lived. I tried doing this dozens of times. I’m 39 yrs old and a single mom to a 5 yr old daughter. I’m also still dedicated to supporting music as a booking agent. But I’ve been through hell and I still like love to actually meet James Taylor. I never made it and somehow I hope he will see this comment and help my lifelong dream come true.

A quick correction on your thumbnail : This song is from James' 1972 album "One Man Dog" not "Mud Slide Slim and the Blue Horizon". Both great albums, but I always like to give credit to the sometimes underappreciated "One Man Dog" album.
