By far the best DIY spray can paint job I've watched, even if its just a demo. I already know most of the tricks and stuff that you talked about but its ALWAYS nice that you actually mentioned all of it. I like how you discussed the cons of doing this and how its to be expected because it isn't an actual paint booth. Awesome video.

Quite possibly the best "how to get a professional bodyshop look at a carport price" video out there. Im glad to see someone else that prefers rattlecans over spray guns. And you gave every tip and trick i know of and then some, from clearcoat+hardener to warming the can up before use, you gave all the best info and delivered it quite efficiently. This should be a role model for other how to videos tbh. You keep doin what you do bro. Much love and upmost respect. Thank you.

We used to spray paint engine parts on cars 20+ years ago using rattle cans to make the engine bay look cool ,clean and colorful. Also used the Wagner electric power sprayer on cars back then and wet sand and buff afterwards to keep things cheap for us broke a$$ hot rodders . JC Whitney parts ordering was a regular thing back then as well as Summit Racing and Jeggs.

You show me any other KZfaq creator that prefers to shoot his paint from a rattle can? This creator is awesome. Everyone doesn't own a compressor or air spray gun. Most don't want to invest in that equipment. This creator shows it can be done with great results on the cheap. This channel will blow up soon. I love it.

I prefer to spray with cans over a gun most of the time for a couple reasons. 1. Cost. Especially with trial and error with mist coats of metallics over standard gloss, or combining colors. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qc-Ao9p32pzQf2w.html This is purple gloss and cobalt blue metallic sprayed at the same time, crossing spray patterns to blend the colors while spraying. 2. Been my practice for a few years, so familiarity 3. A lot of time, im doing smaller projects, so clean up after is easier. Cans back on the shelf or in the trash. Typically with larger projects (cars/bikes) I'll run a gun for the clear coat or if I want to add a pearl or flake to paint job.

@@Lincolnator721 It's too hard to keep proper pressure on spray cans. This ended up looking good, but anything larger than 2x2, most people should just get a gun or hire it out.

When I say good job it's with administration from one panel beater paint sprayer 40 years experience like you I sprayed my first car at 14 years old so watching you was a pleasure I will let you know if I get the gear here in Thailand to do the old Toyota up it's so faded and it's silver as you know not the easiest for spray can color but if I can find the 2k it should be ok Thanks for sharing you have inspired me to get of my arse and stop saying I'm retired 🤣🤣👨🏻‍🔧👍

Thanks for the demos! I have a car that is being restored, a family project my kids got me. I know Metallics can be a bit tricky to deal with, and perhaps even moreso interference paints (those that change colors with lighting & reflection) from using them in actylic projects. Can you suggest any brand of interference paints for cars, preferably in a can? I wasn't sure how a paint job was going to go on this car & I want to do something differrnt & fun. After watching several videos, I figure if I totally mess it up, I can sand her down & paint her again. Thanks for the tips! I'm going to try a few soda cans before I sand the car & paint, to at least get a feel for it. Seeing others do this successfully helps break the ice! It's time to go buy some sandpaper/blocks/wheels, dewaxer/deoiler, primer, paint, clearcoat, tape, plastic, etc. & give this a try. I think I'm going to go for the trigger sprayers too, as I doubt I can push a regular spray can button that long & want to keep the spray consistent. This is definitrly out of my usual comfort zone, but I think I've got this. The only way to find out is to give it a try! This should be fun! Thanks again!

Hey James, I appreciate you. This stuff is really amazing. I do have a couple questions I was hoping you could answer. I painted my truck using the steps and exact paint you have in this video. It turned out pretty good but I mistakenly did not purchase enough 2k Clear so some spots are not covered well enough. Is it okay for me to wet sand then apply more 2k clear? Also when i was spraying the 2k Clear I accidentally had some drips on the Hood. Do you have any recommendations on how to remove the drip marks? Can I simply wetsand them out, then apply more 2k clear? Sorry for all the questions. Thank you for your time.

Dry Scuff the plastic with a red scuff pad, use a adhesion promoter OR SEMs plastic primer. Paint over the adhesion promoter but if you use the primer sand the primer with 800 gritt sandpaper then paint. Between paint coats, after it tries in 10 mins wipe using a tack cloth. Then use this 2k clear if you want protection. Do not tack cloth clear coat.
