Thank you Kate. Your videos are massively appreciated here in France. I can't imagine life without them. They comfort and inspire and i love the buskers and the heavy breathing and the wonky camera movements and the empathy you have with the art and artists.

Challenging work to appreciate immediately but they grew on me over time... and a... always appreciate your comments... and a... input... also a... the close up camera work. It makes me feel like I am there, because I would be doing that. Getting close and then backing away... and a... I smile every time I hear you say "... and a" :) Thank you James for all that you've done to share this with us for 11 years now? Constantly inspires my work and helps usher me through all-night deadlines... Thank you, Kate (whoever you are).

Thanks Matt, I've been getting posts from one viewer SCREAMING that I should hold the camera static for ten seconds with a full view of the paintings and not go in for close-ups. I'm trying to give viewers a better full view, but as a painter, the close-ups are a big part of why paintings are interesting (also gives one an idea of how they were painted). Anyway thanks JK (P.S. Kate is my wife and the Executive Producer.)

Ten seconds! 2 or 3 would be enough for us to pause on if needed - I guess I kind of get that - but, hey, I just appreciate that you're doing this at all. If I had the money to spare I'd seriously fund the work and buy you a bad ass Vespa. At some stage, that bike's gotta get hung up, right? Half-assed productions will have to be upgraded to full-ass productions at some point! :) All the best, man... and THANK YOU James AND Kate.

I never really truly appreciated Lasker until I saw his originals. It's a totally different experience to be next to one of his paintings instead of seeing photographs or videos of his work. He's really talented.

Jonathan is a wonderful painter and this recent work seems to be going in a new direction. It reminds me of his early work, revisited and reworked to a better conclusion. That big colorful piece is magical. Thank you James for this wonderful video and thank you Jonathan for the beautiful work, Thanks Kate!!! :)

I find work technically amazing. First, the sponge brush may explain the neatness of the lines, but the whole surface seems so carefully managed that it almost seems magical. Second, how the hell does he keep paint that thick on a flexible surface like canvas; moving and storing those large works must be tricky. I came across this video while looking to see if you had done anything on Austin Eddy who seems like an interesting artist. If you want suggestions, I would be really interested in seeing Melissa Meyer, Patricia Tribe, and Joanna Pousette-Dart. Thanks James and Kate.

That's how someone coming from the marketing world would label it, yes... But people who are sensitive to artistic processes would rather call it a deeper exploration into obsession, fascination, mystery, intuition.

Do you think it makes the painting better by the amount of paint you waste on it?
