Angry Video Game Nerd (AVGN) episode 176: Raid 2020. 11 years ago the Nerd said he might review Raid 2020 in the year 2020, and now that time has come. Raid 2020 is a cyberpunk action game developed and published by Color Dreams AKA Wisdom Tree for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). It was released in 1989. The object is to defeat all the drug dealers, defeat the drug lord Pit Bull, and eradicate drugs from the streets of America. As agent Shadow, the player faces a dystopian future world where moral collapse is inevitable. He is described as representing the last uncorrupted vestiges of law enforcement.

I wanted to say that. Apparently it was changed somewhere in the 80’s when the department of home defense found out. I heard that now it’s a code that changes regularly to make it harder to figure out. Also, keep in mind that they’re stored on the football which can only be opened with the biscuit.

It is honestly so refreshing to see a creator on KZfaq who, after well over a decade of making content on the platform, has consistently made quality content - especially in the ever-evolving (or de-volving) age of the internet. I gotta say, I really like this episode. As wonderful as it is to watch James go nuts bringing in fancy costumes, and props and gimmics to the table, this felt like a great throwback to his original style, sticking to snarky comments and exasperated ranting.

It's funny that he calls it Raid Twenty-Twenty now but back in the old AVGN video, he calls it Raid Two Thousand Twenty. As the 2010s progressed, lots of people stopped saying "Two Thousand X" and started saying "Twenty-X". Idk why I find that little linguistic detail interesting.
