You should try to go to Lowe’s to sponsor one of your episodes I’ve seen them help out other you tubers with the renovations. Sometimes they give free appliances that could help with your cost.

Your home will be fantastic with all the thought, care and love you are putting into it. When you have completed the renovation and lived in the house six months or so, would you please make a "what we would do differently" video for all of us who may be renovating our own homes in the future.

Old houses are always a labor of love. I bought a 130 year old Victorian farm house, that I grew up in, from my folks. I know of what I speak. Your whole family are always in my prayers! (as is your old house, it will need prayers, trust me. )

You are doing a great job ! We live and learn as we go. Think about it. All you have learned from this house. You know more about this house and you haven't moved into it yet than I have ever know about any place I have lived in. That is an accomplishment! Think of all the stories you will have for your grandchildren! You two are a great team that works together! That is magnificent. Not many have ever done that. I can't wait to see your beautiful home all moved in and beautiful!

I am sorry about your frozen pipes and toilet. I used to live in the part of the country where this would happen if there was no heat in the house. I will begin to pray for you. I am so excited about your 1917 farmhouse.

It's always an ordeal but it will all come together. Does any build or remodel go on with out hiccups? I've never heard of that happening for anyone I know. Just add 3 months at the beginning and you will be closer to when you will be done.

Yes! It is an education along the way! When me and Jody started this fire damaged home, we had all of these dreams and ideas! Lol! Quite honestly many have changed due to circumstances we didn’t foresee. That’s what drives our creativity out...working with what we have instead of what we want. You both have done an amazing job and in your story you are helping others along the way that are in the same boat, like my husband and me. You will love it! I have realized in my journey to slow down (husband is very impatient) and not purchase anything until right before we need it. Even some of my furniture from my old house doesn’t work or fit in the new so far. Love your journey!!

I'm glad you went ahead and did demo before consulting anyone. Now you will get what you want even though you have to redo somethings. they would have tried to tell you you couldn't make all those changes believe me. Now that you did anyway, they have to help with solutions. Good for you. I had a house I once owned added on to. I drew the plans on a piece of paper and they turned them into drawing just like I wanted because I'm very precise when it comes to my home. the builder had built the house originally so he used the old lumber that he removed from areas to add to new area because he showed us how much better it was. It really was 2x4.

Our water filter like that froze, so you may have to replace. Water was running down the driveway.

Sorry for your latest setback. We made a lot of mistakes while our old house was being remodeled as well, things we would do differently if we had to do it over again. At least you have the skills to do a lot yourselves, which is something I wish we had had. Good for you to roll with it and not get all discouraged. Things happen, life goes on. It will be beautiful when it’s done!

its weird seeing snow at yours...its fire that's put our farmhouse build on hold as we have to get a BAL rating (bushfire attack level) but the fire dept is busy still with bushfires here & it may be 2 months till we can get our BAL

Glad you got the footings poured and hope they and the pipes and related equipment, toilet etc. survive with the bad weather. It’s a testing time for you. Can I ask if you are insulating the roof area? Fingers crossed you survive the winter months. With the incredible year you have had, I’m surprised you’ve got so much accomplished! It was so nice to watch your home update just now. I am south west of Sydney and we have out of control bushfires to the west of where I live. Many of my work colleagues and friends have been evacuated and there is smoke everywhere and burned leaves raining down. In the middle of all of this it was wonderful to see your smiling face and to see how you are progressing on building your family’s home. Wish some of the snow in Utah could be magically moved to the Green Wattle Creek Fire here in New South Wales!
