From an American perspective I never heard of Sunderland AFC, and didn’t really understand how English Football leagues were run. I binged season 1 & 2 within a couple days while following along with the podcasts presented in the show. All that being said I never thought I would find another fan base on the planet that is as loyal and passionate as Sunderland fans are compared to my Nebraska Cornhuskers. We haven’t been good in 20 years, but have sold out every game since 1962. From now on I’ll be rooting for Sunderland to climb out of League 1 and back to the Premiership one day. Take care!

I think you are 100% right, because the fans make Sunderland special. They should have had more interviews with players too in my opinion

I'd love to know what you thought of the way Luke came across in the series you know since you actually let him out of your basement to let him to do it, was it worth letting him out or not ??

Great video. I totally agree with your analysis of STID 2; way too many interviews with Donald and Methven and not enough fan interaction. Just brief interviews before or after games. The key part of the season, which was really glossed over in favour of the Grigg saga, was the amount of 1-1 draws that affected the momentum of the team. I also agreed with your point about Asoro, Maja and Ross when he walked in; they almost started laughing when Ross left the room.

Donald should have listened to Jack Ross about Grigg not being worth the money. It was no surprise that Grigg didn’t perform to expectations and if I was an owner I would listen to the gaffer as he is likely to have better knowledge for football in general. I think Donald wanted to prove people wrong by making a big signing that would take them back to the championship. I agree that Charlie and Stewart have a great vision for the club but they don’t have the resources and people around them to do so currently.

The whole beating the league one attendance record confused me. One minute Methven wanted to just beat the record , then it was 40,000 then it was 45,000, then it was 47,000 . Could get behind the 2nd target as that’s a good round number, but moving the goalposts on the objective was a bit strange and don’t know why he was so upset at them achieving 46,000 on that day . They got over 45 k fans , smashing the record

I watched it shortly after watching the first one which I knew I would not enjoy and I didnt though the fan involvement was the one bright spot. The second series showed exactly why Donald and Methven are not the right men for the job required by any Sunderland fan with the right ambition to get the club back to the premier league. They do not have the skills or the resources...simple as that.

Totally disagree. I think Stewart's done a great job at getting the club back on track to the best of his ability. Is he perfect? No but if he is in charge we will be heading in the right direction. Agree with you about Charlie and the documentary not having enough focus on the fans. I don't understand why people want Stewart out, the money doesn't and shouldn't matter. We are in league 1, we can't afford to be Spending more money. Even if it did matter I'd much rather have an owner who genuinely cares than one that doesnt.
